Control Magic deck OTK

Hi everyone, today i want to introduce you to my latest deck which is a control magic not using any Helian Elite and the only legendary card is Demetrios, Playwright.

This Deck revolve around keeping your opponent in check while you draw your combo for the one turn kill.

Note that if you got the possibility to go face with god power or creatures you should do so as you would be able to combo earlier for the kill if your opponent has less than 30hp.
But that means it wouldn't be an OTK deck anymore so of course the combo can deal 30 damage through spells.

So without further delay here is the list, it can still be improved and we will go into that shortly after:

First we can say it's more or less a budget version as i don't have any funds to acquire some cards that would be good in that deck. I'm thinking about Ancient Texts(2 damage spell) which could be used in the combo or Magic Inks (copy the lowest cost spell in hand). Maybe Faraday cage as you can have some trouble dealing with zoo decks, Read The Leaves and Librarian's Prayer are also some option for draw & foresee (note that i don't use any foresee and focus purely on draw). A Form of Unity could also be used for the combo.
Anyway those are a few exemples but basically you need 3 type of cards in that deck:

1- Cards to destroy creatures (Starshard Bolt, Tracking Bolt, Crackling Bolt, Shaped Blast, Lightning Talisman....)
2- Cards for Draw (Cram, Frenetic Bibliomaniac, Reject Dogma, Safeguard Incantation)
3- Cards for the combo (Academy Apprentice, Surpassing Blast, Demetrios, Stormfield, Helpful Aetherfox, Reject Dogma)

So if you need to do the 30 damage combo (if you couldn't deal any face damage, maybe because it's a zombie death that keeps leeching)

First you need to use your helpful Aetherfox to reduce the cost of Stormfield to 0 (you could use another cost reduction but i like the fox)

IF you need a second fox maybe to reduce a Final Draft v3 to 0 mana you have Immaterialize (can also be used to copy a Demetrios and have two final draft for the combo)

Once you got a Stormfield at 0 mana in hand you need two Academy Apprentice in hand
At this point you have +8 spell boost that cost 4mana, now you need 3 spells dealing 2damage in hand and once you've got all of this:

You use emote GG > summon both Academy Apprentices and their echo > Use Stormfield > Go face with the 3 spells and it's won

So for the full combo you need at least 6 cards in hand and that's why we have some additional cards to put in there so we can deal face damage before the combo and end without needing one or two combo cards.
For face damage you have:

-God Power. Obviously but prioritize face last as we are not short on face damage

-Unbound Flames. This is my favorite card in the deck as you can use it for 5 face damage and board clear(or 10dmg on a monster if required) and if you have both in your hand you can do it two turn in a row just before you combo to make sure you got the lethal (most of the time)

-Leyhoard Hatchling. Try to keep it for when you need to get rid of some annoying creature but if you need it for lethal it is there


And last but not least you can go face with creatures you summon if it is better than trading creatures but i leave it to your own judgement

For The mulligan you will aim to get:

-Lightning Talisman in most matchup (against mage it's useless most of the time in early). Getting Shaped Blast is also nice (you can play it x2 in the deck, i just don't have another one). 
-Cram or Bibliomaniac can be nice as you will have less opportunities to use it later when your hand is full. 
-Theoretical Thaumaturge is good against zoo/aggro decks (quick note about this card, most of the time you will use it and god power to deal 2dmg or tracking bolt if you need 3dmg on one creature and 1 on others, the echo can also be used together with the combo for +1 spellboost just like Bibliomaniac's echo). 
-Safeguard Incantation in mulligan is good in some matchup, against aggro war with slayer god power and against magic mostly. 
-Tracking Bolt is good to keep most of the time.

What you don't want in mulligan is Unbound Flames as you will most likely use it empowered at 7mana, Leyhoard Hatchling as you first need more cards in hands and you could draw another one round 2-3 which would screw you a little, Immaterialize pretty much useless without Aetherfox or Demetrios as those are the most likely to be the targets (could also target an Academy Apprentice if you need to use one early for 1spell boost or a Leyhoard for an extra 4dmg) and you don't want any of the combo cards as you could lack control or draw and have a dead card until the end

Currently i am no more in mythic as i deranked while trying different version of this deck but i'm sure it can will work in mythic aswell, with that version i got 65% WR on 40games.
Might need some Ancient Texts to make it more consistent though but i feel like the core combo can be used no matter the meta, the cards for control will depends of the meta though and the cards for drawing are up to personnal preferences.

I hope you enjoyed it and will test it. Even if it's not optimized it's fun to play and i enjoy watching my opponent suffering when i win after he took me down to ~1hp and got board the whole game.
Feel free to suggest cards for improvement, as i said if i had the funds i would add Ancient Texts, maybe Faraday Cage, Magic Inks, warp engineer, Sip of Elixir, Chrystaltech Scholar would also be decent choices. Alastrina would definitly be good as it would let you combo earlier. Dralamar is probably not good here. Choralis Rune Moth is a card to keep in mind but i couldn't make it fit here and it's not really required. Scepter of Artistry could be an option for more spell boost and an earlier OTK combo. Nythos, Mage-Weaver could be good but i doubt he would stick on the board. Merlin could be good to also prepare the combo. Archimea, Arithmancer aswell assuming she doesn't die the turn you play it. Pallas, Champion of Magic could potentially work aswell. Ekrileth, Spawn of Pendroleth is also an option as your hand is full most of the time, you could get some board control at 6mana with a 9/9 creature. Recovered Knowledge could also be good to get back some cards for control. Anyway those are a few exemple but there are a lot more cards you could implement.
