Mortal Judgement is coming. People are getting prepared for the new reality. I researched what MJ offers about Anubians, then I checked what available sets had, and I was amazed. Big shopping followed, and test fights played on this weekend. I will share everything including a surprising gameplay with a cool must-have Anubian that resurrected 4 times, read on.
Shortly What MJ Anubians Are
The Main Spell And Two Main Creatures
If you take a look at Mortal Judgement Death cards, you'll easily notice that they are focused on manipulations with 1-mana Anubians. And in the very center of the whole concept, there is a spell called Pharaoh's Heirloom.
Specially for foreigners like me: an heirloom is "a valuable object that has belonged to a family for several generations" - Oxford Dictionary.
This spell summons two 1-mana creatures: frontline Wretched Vanguard and, if the spell empowered, blitz-and-burned Vile Reaver.
Adders of Pharaoh's Heirloom
There are many MJ Death cards that add Pharaoh's Heirloom to your hand so this card will be played multiple times during a game.
Buffers of Pharaoh's Heirloom
Also, there are MJ Death cards that work with 1-mana Anubian creatures (from Pharaoh's Heirloom and others) or Pharaoh's Heirloom itself:
In a Nutshell
The main idea of the Anubian archetype after Mortal Judgement comes will be: herds of micro frontlines stealing the opponent's god health and a crowd of micro blitzes. And all of them will tend to return from the void one or several times...

Anubians of the Available Sets
If you look at Divine Order Death cards, you'll see that the Anubian uprise has been planned for a long while. Because these cards will work perfectly with MJ Anubians:
Malissian Magistrate, added recently to Core Set, may become irreplaceable for the Anubian Death archetype. 1-mana Raving Necromancer fits the concept well too:
Huge! I am looking forward to playing Anubians on PTR 8pm April 11 PDT ā 8pm April 13 PDT (the date from blog.godsunchained.com).
New Anubian Star From Trial Set
But that's not all, I decided to save the box of cakes for last. š
A 1-mana Anubian that damages the opponent's god every time when a friendly or an enemy Anubian dies. š¤
When it hit my radar in the morning of April 8, it cost 0.004 ETH. I needed to sell some cards first. So I paid a bit more:
Today, the price is around 0.0014 ETH.
And these are my Anubian buys:
One more new Death card in my collection š:

Pre-MJ Anubian Deck
To palp the idea of Anubians, I was testing Anubian decks in Solar / Ethereal Diamond this weekend and created this one, the last version:
Deck on Gudeck: https://gudecks.com/decks/32112
Deck Code: GU_1_1_BElBElGCbGCbCCcCCcCDvCDvBFGBFGCDSCDSICOCFGCFGIBNIBNICBICBCCACCAICDICDCFFIBRICHICHCAgCAgIBW
18 Anubians altogether.
1-mana Priestesses of Takhat and 1-mana Raving Necromancers damage 2 and 1 accordingly the opponent's god when a friendly or enemy Anubian dies.
Others can bring creatures back from the void: these are Triage Necromancer, Takhat the Forgotten, 2 Tomb Priests, 2 Nether Vampiric Skulls, 2 Malissian Magistrates. Altogether, 8 creatures (!) that resurrect once or every turn. Tomb Priest pulls the strongest Anubian to the hand so Malissian Magistrates can roar "Afterlife: return to the board" again - so even more resurrections are possible in this deck!
Anubian Deathwatch Elder damages 3 the opponent's god every turn when you have health 15 and lower. This is the cheapest DO epic card, by the way, and a very interesting one.
You can decrease the health of both gods and, then, a couple of Deathwatch Elders will finish the opponent dealing damage 6 by ability + 6 damage by attack... š
You can say: 3/3 is easy to kill. But don't forget Deathwatch Elder is an Anubian, they have many ways for sudden coming back from purgatory.
I've included some other tribes too. Faithbreaker, Munosian Infiltrator, Wicked Faes, Guild Enforcers, Vampiric Skulls.
I will play the deck further and when I get new MJ cards, I will include them into this deck. This is my starting point in my Anubian adventure š
Anubian Gameplay With Comments
I could spend many words describing the deck but you better watch a gameplay of mine with comments:
This video, first of all, proves that playing Anubians is special and fun š
It was not in Mythic, this was in Solar this weekend but the opponent's deck was a decent budget Aggro Light, 3 times more expensive than mine:
I hope you found my post useful.
Thank you for stopping by!
