Saludos amigos de #sketchbook, el día de hoy comparto otro de los tres dibujos de los símbolos naturales que les estoy realizando a la maestra de mi primita de segundo grado, culminando así con las publicaciones de esta semana con el dibujo del araguaney, un hermoso árbol que en sus temporadas se llena de flores amarillas por unos dias. La temporada en que ellos florecen es conocida como " la primavera de oro", además cuando las flores se empiezan a caer, la base de éstos árboles se alfombra con esas bellas flores amarillas, por eso el significado de su nombre en griego es "flor de oro".
Greetings friends of sketchbook, today I share another of the three drawings of natural symbols that I am making for my little cousin's second grade teacher, culminating this week's publications with the drawing of the araguaney, a beautiful tree that in its seasons is filled with yellow flowers for a few days. The season in which they bloom is known as "the golden spring", and when the flowers begin to fall, the base of these trees are carpeted with these beautiful yellow flowers, hence the meaning of its name in Greek is "golden flower".
Este árbol fue declarado árbol nacional por el Presidente (De ese entonces) Rómulo Gallegos el 29 de mayo del año 1948, formando parte de nuestros símbolos naturales desde hace más de 70 años. Adoro la temporada de los araguaneys, se ven hermosos y más cuando son varios en un sólo lugar, por mi casa hay varios, y al buscar a mis primitas a la escuela, nos ponemos a jugar a ver quien ve más araguaneys de camino a casa, ellas también juegan a atrapar las flores cuando estas empiezan a caer.
This tree was declared national tree by the president (at that time) Rómulo Gallegos on May 29, 1948, being part of our natural symbols for more than 70 years. I love the araguaneys season, they look beautiful and more when there are several in one place, in my house there are several, and when I pick up my little cousins from school, we play to see who sees more araguaneys on the way home, they also play to catch the flowers when they start to fall.
Para este dibujo decidí dibujar la parte superior del araguaney, evitando dibujar todo el tronco, o mejor dicho, el árbol en su totalidad, esta decisión se debe a que formará parte de un afiche de color azul, lo que dará la ilusión de que el color azul del afiche (una vez que le pegue el dibujo del araguaney) representará el azul del cielo, además este color hará que el color amarillo del árbol sea el protagonista una vez que este listo el afiche, sin duda me emociona terminarlos y a su vez me encanta como están quedando los dibujos de los símbolos naturales.
For this drawing I decided to draw the upper part of the araguaney, avoiding drawing the whole trunk, or better said, the whole tree, this decision is because it will be part of a blue poster, which will give the illusion that the blue color of the poster (once I paste the drawing of the araguaney) will represent the blue of the sky, also this color will make the yellow color of the tree to be the protagonist once the poster is ready, without a doubt I am excited to finish them and at the same time I love how the drawings of the natural symbols are turning out.

- Realice la base del dibujo con el lápiz 2h, haciendo la distribución de las ramificaciones del árbol y luego haciendo las siluetas de las zonas que representarán las flores.
Make the base of the drawing with the 2h pencil, making the distribution of the branches of the tree and then making the silhouettes of the areas that will represent the flowers.
- Después utilice el lapicero para realizar el trabajo de línea en todo el dibujo, empezando por las zonas que irán amarillas y terminando por el tronco y las ramas.
Then use the pencil to do the line work on the whole drawing, starting with the areas that will be yellow and ending with the trunk and branches.
- Borre las líneas hechas con el lápiz y procedí a aplicar una base de color en todo el dibujo con sus respectivos tonos en cada area.
I erased the lines made with the pencil and proceeded to apply a base color throughout the drawing with their respective tones in each area.
- Comencé con el detallado final de las zonas amarillas, utilizando 3 tonos de amarillo y anaranjado y morado para las sombras.
I started with the final detailing of the yellow areas, using 3 shades of yellow and orange and purple for the shadows.
- Para el tronco utilice varios colores, entre ellos morado, marron, amarillo y verde, aplicando hasta dar el aspecto de un tronco, y culminando con el dibujo.
For the trunk I used several colors, among them purple, brown, yellow and green, applying them until giving the aspect of a trunk, and culminating with the drawing.
