Greetings to all the Hive.blog community. Today I bring you another drawing post, a little different for me, this time I wanted to get out of my "comfort zone" and use another drawing technique, I wanted to experiment with it for a long time, it is to make the design of the drawing completely in grayscale and then apply color to them. It was a simple drawing in which I experimented with the use of different methods of color mixtures, it was an interesting experience and I liked the final result. Saludos a toda la comunidad de Hive.blog. Hoy les traigo otros post de dibujo, un tanto diferente para mí, esta vez quise salir de mi “zona de confort” y usar otra técnica de dibujo, que hace tiempo quería experimentar con ella, se trata de realizar el diseño del dibujo completamente en escala de grises para luego aplicarles color. Fue un dibujo sencillo en el cual experimente con el uso de distintos métodos de mezclas de color, fue una experiencia interesante y me gusto el resultado final. ¿Qué piensan ustedes, les gusto el trabajo?

Drawing development / Desarrollo ✏️

The process of this drawing includes the realization of the design in grayscale, here we will use different shades of gray to give volume, brightness, shadows and details to the portrait, and then using different layers of mixtures we will apply the color to it.

El proceso de este dibujo comprende la realización del diseño a escala de grises, acá usaremos diferentes tonalidades de gris para dar volumen, brillos, sombras y detalles al retrato, para luego usando diferentes capas de mezclas ir aplicando el color al mismo.

We start the sketch using quick and simple strokes to represent the position of each part of the face and the proportions. Then we add a layer of gray on the face a little lighter than the background.

Empezamos el boceto usando trazos rápidos y sencillos para representar la posición de cada parte del rostro y las proporciones. Luego agregamos una capa de gris en el rostro un poco más clara que el fondo.

In this step I add a little more tones to the face, using an airbrush I apply a darker gray to give volume and with a rustic brush I draw the shape of the hair.

En este paso voy colocando un poco más de tonalidades al rostro, usando un pincel aerógrafo aplico un gris un poco más oscuro para ir dando volumen y con un pincel rustico dibujo la forma del cabello.

Now I proceed to further detail the features of the face, I apply a little shimmer using a lighter gray than the base and blend. In the same way I blur the hair layer.

Ahora procedo a detallar aún más los rasgos del rostro, aplico un poco brillo usando un gris más claro que el de la base y difumino. De igual manera voy difuminando la capa del cabello.

We accentuate shadows and highlights of the skin, draw the eyebrows and eyes, and add texture and volume to the hair to make it look even more natural.

Acentuamos sombras y luces de la piel, dibujamos las cejas y ojos, además agregamos textura y volumen al cabello para que se vea aún más natural.

To finish we locked the layer of our drawing to grayscale, then we used different mixing methods to gradually apply colors, among the mixing methods I used, were: color, multiply, soft light, add and overlay, combining layer by layer until the desired shade is obtained.

Para finalizar bloqueamos la capa de nuestro dibujo a escala de grises, luego usamos diferentes métodos de mezcla para de a poco ir aplicando colores, entre los métodos que mezcla que use, fueron: color, multiplicar, luz suave, añadir y superposición, combinando capa por capa hasta obtener la tonalidad deseada.
