Splinterlands Guild Brawl Battles - Advantages of Having Gladius Cards

Hello everyone! Lester here! Have you read the latest Town Hall Summary? If not yet, check their post here - Splinterlands Town Hall Summary - May 23rd, 2022 - 4PM Eastern! for the latest updates in Splinterlands. Also, just in case you are not yet aware, a huge update has been made in the last planned maintenance of the game. Here is a link of the latest release notes - Release Notes.

For this post, I am going to share to you guys my recent Guild Brawl Battles wherein my Battle Results are 6W 0L 0D. Let me also discuss the importance of having a Guild and Gladius Cards in Guild Brawls.

As you already know, Gladius Cards can only be bought in Guild Stores and for you to be able to use these gladiators, your Guild's Barracks should be at least Level 2. Also, having a Guild helps you earn more DEC per battle because one of the contributing reward reward percentage in Rank Battles is having a Guild.

My Gladius Cards

Currently, I have 25 Gladius Cards in this account and these have a total of 2,540 Collection Power. This is one of the benefits of participating in Guild Brawls. You can earn merits that lets you buy Gladius Packs. So it is like having free cards and collection power to help you climb up higher leagues. Also, Gladius cards are very effective in Guild Brawls because of their Bloodlust ability. A single Gladius card when left uncheck can defeat all your cards even though it is the only card left in the opponent's side.

Every time this Monster defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats (in the Reverse Speed ruleset, -1 to Speed).

Brawl Battles

In this Brawl, my Battle Results are 6W 0L 0D. I earned 18 points for the guild and I received 692 merits for my participation.

Battle #1

Battle Link | Battle 1: vs SPLINTERLANDSNFT

The Gladius Card that I used in this battle is Alva The Crusher. This card is in the Water element and have a rarity of Normal. At Level 1, it has the Bloodlust and Shield ability. It also has good stats which makes these card a good tank for your line up.

Battle #2

Battle Link | Battle 2: vs THOOGEN

In my second battle, I used again Alva The Crusher because the Ruleset has Earthquake. Alva The Crusher has 3 Armor and will increase to 4 because of Kelya's buff. This will prevent this card from getting killed easily. I also used Disintegrator to debuff the melee attack of the enemy. And if you noticed in the battle link, Diemonshark and Flying Squid inflicts zero damage to Alva The Crusher.

Battle #3

Battle 3: Opponent Fled

Battle #4

Battle Link | Battle 4: vs HILLMULO

The Gladius Card that I used in this battle is Witch of Warwick. This card is in the Death element and have a rarity of Normal. At Level 1, it has the Bloodlust and Life Leech ability. It has 1 Speed and 2 HP only that is why I placed this card in the 4th position. One of the advantage of this card is that It already has 2 Magic Attack in addition to its Leech Ability.

At the end of the battle, Witch of Warwick survived with 5 Magic Attack, 7 HP and 4 Speed as a result of its Bloodlust and Life Leech abilities.

Battle #5

Battle Link | Battle 5: vs JUS-LUCK

In my 5th battle, I used Cutter Brieze. It is a Rare card from Earth element and It only costs 1 Mana, which is perfect for low mana cap battles. It also has 4 Speed and Bloodlust ability.

Battle #6

Battle Link | Battle 6: vs L33TNINJAS

The last but not the least battle has Captain Katie from the Light Element. I got lucky to receive this Gold Foil card. Aside from its Bloodlust ability it also has Snipe and 3 Magic Attack. It can easily kill support monsters from the back and benefit from its Bloodlust ability

So even though the ruleset has Noxius Fumes, Captain Katie was the sole survivor thanks to its Bloodlust ability.

Recap

Based from my experience, I therefore conclude that having Gladius Cards have advantages namely:

  • Free Additional Collection Power
  • Additional Fire Power to your Line Up because of the Bloodlust ability.
  • Having fun creating new Line Ups with Gladius Cards

That's all and Thank You for reading my post. Always keep on battling!!!
