Flowing Mural on the Mercado El Verde [CCC's Street Art Contest #96]

As I already indicated in yesterday's post, I visited the Mercado El Verde last Sunday, in Tepetlapa the southern part of Mexico City. On the wall of its rear entrance I saw a mural that I said I wanted to submit to this week's CCC Street Art Contest. But for that the picture I used in that post would hardly do any justice. Still, I'll share it again here before taking a closer look at this image.

The railing on the ramp makes it a bit tricky to get a good shot of the whole mural. It features two ladies and a dog, and a very interesting flow of colors across the entire wall, all the way down to the bottom part.

But back to the beauties of the market: The faces of the two women reflect the typically diverse looks of Mexicans. It's quite amazing how the physical features of the locals could look like what one would expect from... pretty much any part of the world! As for the dog, it looks a bit like a heeler, or Australian cattle dog.

Finally, here is a shot I took from the corner of the little platform outside the door. As great the mural looks from just below, up close it looses its essence. It could be the brick wall, which has the opposite effect from in my last post: In case of the classic car the bricks added that special something. But here, I kinda feel it just takes away from it. Oh well! I believe it's best enjoyed from the parking lot.
