Mexican Murals - Another Skater Girl in Parque Lira [CCC's Street Art Contest #131]

I'm back in the Parque Lira, not to far from where I live in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood of Mexico City. More specifically, I'm again in the skater park, where I already posted about another Sexy Skater. Today I want to introduce you to a mural of another skater girl, who is also sexy in a completely different way.

This girl is completely badass in so many aspects. First of all, she's holding a spray can, ready to create some fantastic imagery, while she is standing on a skateboard, doing some turns on a half-pipe. This combination alone is probably way too outrageous to be realistic, at least to engage in both activities simultaneously. But that's not all!

Looking at her robotic arm and leg, it is clear that her missing limbs are far from inhibiting her from being amazing on the skateboard. Now whether these high-tech prosthetics are actually the source of her skills, remains debatable. I'd much rather like to think that she was a skilled skater to begin with, and after losing her appendages she learned to make the most of her robotic enhancements. The same could be said about her goggles, which she can do without perfectly fine, but still enjoys the extra abilities they provide... whatever they may be.

Behind her, a similarly cyborg rodent buddy is cheering her on, making the "hang loose" sign. At this point it is completely beside the point how far from the realistic we have come. It simply doesn't matter. What's important is the idea that everybody can do incredible things with their bodies, no matter how challenged it may be, as well as express themselves artistically, plus make use of the increasingly powerful technology at our disposal.

Unfortunately, I could not find any identifying marks of this mural's artist. As always, this post is my entry for the CCC's Street Art Contest #131 this week. Check it out for lots of impressive street art from around the world! If you want to see more murals I have found in Mexico, please visit my blog series Mexican Murals.
