Ya a pocas horas de culminar esta gran iniciativa me animo a reflexionar sobre el tema de esta semana de nuestra querida comunidad, me parece que este tema conmueve emotivos recuerdos, además de generar importantes reflexiones, así que anímate tú también a esta u otras iniciativas de Humanitas.

Para mí, pensar en la pedagogía es recordar mi educación, mis buenos maestros y maestras, que tuve durante mi infancia, la adolescencia e incluso durante mis años de universidad, siento, fui privilegiada en contar con grandes personas y profesionales que me enseñaron tantas cosas para la vida.

Honestamente, de niña siempre fui muy aplicada y autodidacta, mi mamá trabajaba mucho, así que yo era muy independiente para mis estudios, considero que aquellos años la educación fue muy participativa, alegre, motivadora y de cierta manera dependieron tanto del modelo educativo como el docente propiamente, quienes de maneras únicas buscaron estrategias y métodos para apoyarnos.

Recuerdo, más allá del contenido teórico, cada juego, el teatro, los bailes, las exposiciones, la transmisión en la radio de “matemáticas divertidas”, los paseos, los descansos y los recreos, todas eran actividades necesarias para nuestra educación, una donde era posible construir, aportar y desarrollar habilidades a través de mecanismos diversos, así la recuerdo yo.

Durante aquellos años de la escuela, recuerdo especialmente a mi maestro Enrique, Mailen y Lourdes, además de darme clases siempre me dieron palabras que me inspiraron hasta hoy: ¡brilla, crece, sigue así!, ese tipo de lenguaje positivo y motivador marca y cambia cualquier vida para siempre.

Durante mis años en el liceo y secundaria, crecieron los retos, nuevas asignaturas, convivencia, horarios, todo un sistema diseñado para prepararnos para la universidad y el futuro laboral, donde de algún modo se definen grandes cosas para nuestra vida. Cuando llegué a la universidad, conocí todo un nuevo mundo y es allí, donde de algún modo forjé nuevos criterios e inclinaciones, según cada experiencia, sin duda gracias a mis grandes profesores, tales como Jesús Canelón, Milagros García, Larry Camacho, entre otros.

Es importante acotar, que no soy docente ni tampoco tengo alguna especialización en el área pedagógica, no obstante comprendí la importancia de repensar los modelos de educación para que se adapten a las necesidades, el contexto social, fortalecer los talentos, promover el desarrollo de habilidades tecnológicas, donde prevalezca la participación activa de cada persona, especialmente de los niños y niñas, porque son lienzos en blanco para ayudarlos a crear, así que su futuro está condicionado por el presente.

Sobre mi experiencia

Durante mis años de universidad, realicé un voluntariado por más de 7 años en un campamento de alcance comunitario, donde me invitó una gran mujer, que hoy es mi amiga y compañera de trabajo y sueños, dede entonces nos avocamos a fomentar las inteligencias múltiples, el pensamiento crítico, la educación popular e investigación-acción participativa, estábamos entregadas a las lecturas del brasileño Paulo Freire, Ezequiel Ander Egg, Ivan Illich, Ken Robinson, quienes coincidían en potenciar la creatividad, contextualizar la educación, hacerla más activa y participativa, para lograr ampliar las oportunidades a sectores socialmente vulnerables y excluidos de oportunidades, como por ejemplo las artes, que únicamente se disponen en academias elitistas, costosas e inaccesibles.

Consideramos que, las artes y otros conocimientos teóricos y prácticos no se impulsaban en gran parte de los modelos educativos tradicionales y por eso llevamos a algunas comunidades campamentos que les enseñara a los niños y niñas a ser protagonistas de su propio desarrollo, teniendo acceso a cosas diversas que les permitieran autodescrubrir sus talentos, todo esto gracias a estudiantes en psicología, en docencia, desarrollo humano, habían recreadores entre otras personas, que colaboramos e hicimos posible grandes momentos, muchos de esos niños y niñas crecieron y se formaron parte del equipo organizativo de los campamentos, tanto como líderes, monitores y recreadores, se hicieron personas más sociables, descubrieron talentos y capacidades de sí mismos.

Creo en la educación para la creatividad, la educación que es aplicada, que enseña para crear, que permite intercambiar ideas, interactuar, aportar, sé que hay muchas formas de hacerla posible, incluso me atrevo a decir que Hive es una escuela, que exige estudiar, permite desarrollar nuevas habilidades, nos incentiva a participar y crear contenido original y creativo.

Para finalizar, estoy convencida de que los métodos alternativos de pedagogía basados en la creatividad, el contexto y la participación permiten “descolarizar” como decía Illich, para construir una nueva pedagogía, capaz de responder a las necesidades propias de las personas y su entorno, enfocado en el desarrollo de habilidades y capacidades, las relaciones sociales y el fortalecimiento del pensamiento crítico.

For me, to think about pedagogy is to remember my education, my good teachers, that I had during my childhood, adolescence and even during my college years, I feel, I was privileged to have great people and professionals who taught me so many things for life.

Honestly, as a child I was always very applied and self-taught, my mother worked a lot, so I was very independent for my studies, I consider that those years education was very participatory, cheerful, motivating and in a way depended on both the educational model and the teacher himself, who in unique ways were always looking for strategies and methods to support us.

I remember, beyond the theoretical content, every game, the theater, the dances, the exhibitions, the radio broadcast of "fun math", the field trips, the breaks and recesses, all were necessary activities for our education, one where it was possible to build, contribute and develop skills through various mechanisms, that's how I remember it.

During those school years, I especially remember my teacher Enrique, Mailen and Lourdes, besides giving me classes they always gave me words that inspired me until today: shine, grow, keep it up, that kind of positive and motivating language marks and changes any life forever.

During my years in high school and middle school, the challenges grew, new subjects, coexistence, schedules, a whole system designed to prepare us for college and future work, where somehow great things are defined for our lives. When I arrived at the university I met a whole new world and it is there, where I somehow forged new criteria and inclinations, according to each experience, no doubt thanks to my great teachers, such as Jesus Canelon, Milagros Garcia, Larry Camacho, among others.

I clarify that I am not a teacher nor do I have any specialization in the pedagogical area, however I understood the importance of rethinking education models to adapt them to the needs, the social context, strengthen talents, promote the development of technological skills, where the active participation of each person prevails, especially children, because they are blank canvases to help them create, so their future is conditioned by the present.

About my experience

During my college years, I volunteered for more than 7 years in a community outreach camp, where I was invited by a great woman, who today is my friend and partner in work and dreams, from there we focused on promoting multiple intelligences, critical thinking, popular education and participatory action research, We were devoted to the readings of the Brazilian Paulo Freire, Ezequiel Ander Egg, Ivan Illich, Ken Robinson, who agreed to enhance creativity, contextualize education, make it more active and participatory, to expand opportunities to socially vulnerable and excluded from opportunities, such as the arts, which are only available in elitist, expensive and inaccessible academies.

We considered that the arts and other theoretical and practical knowledge were not promoted in most of the traditional educational models and that is why we took to some communities camps that taught children to be the protagonists of their own development, having access to various things that would allow them to discover their talents, all this thanks to students in psychology, Many of these children grew up and became part of the organizational team of the camps, both as leaders, monitors and recreationalists, they became more sociable people, discovered talents and abilities of themselves.

I believe in education for creativity, education that is applied, that teaches to create, that allows to exchange ideas, interact, contribute, I know that there are many ways to make it possible, I even dare to say that Hive is a school, which requires studying, allows to develop new skills, encourages us to participate and create original and creative content.

Finally, I am convinced that alternative methods of pedagogy based on creativity, context and participation allow "deschooling" as Illich said, to build a new pedagogy, able to respond to the needs of people and their environment, focused on the development of skills and abilities, social relations and strengthening critical thinking.
