Greetings to you all!
Today I'll be sharing a song from the Catholic Hymn Book which is also sung by other Christian denominations. It was sung as the recessional hymn at today's Evening Mass, and it is titled, FAITH OF OUR FATHERS.

Hoy voy a compartir una canci贸n del himnario cat贸lico que tambi茅n se canta en otras denominaciones cristianas. Se cant贸 como himno de receso en la misa vespertina de hoy, y se titula, FE DE NUESTROS PADRES.
By Faith of our Fathers, the song reminds us of the unwavering faith the Apostles, Apostolic Fathers and Early Christians had in Christ.
The song speaks about the struggles and persecutions they went through, and amidst that they never relented, infact they were joyful in serving God.
It's a good thing to learn from their steadfastness to the faith in Christ amidst all they encountered.
We know that we all have to go through various challenges and struggles in our daily lives. And our world today isn't helping matters because Secularism has eaten deep into almost all aspects. In the same way, standing for Christ or the sake of the Gospel has become a difficult task to carry on. In fact, in some places today (especially some part of Northern Nigeria) one cannot be bold enough to say he or she is a Christian because of the persecutions of Christians in those areas.
This song reminds us to remain relentless in standing up for our faith in Christ, just like the Early Fathers.
It encourages us to remain true to God's Word, as we look forward to entering the abode of eternal Happiness and Joy which can only be found in Christ.
La canci贸n Faith of our Fathers (La fe de nuestros padres) nos recuerda la fe inquebrantable que los ap贸stoles, los padres apost贸licos y los primeros cristianos ten铆an en Cristo.
La canci贸n habla de las luchas y persecuciones por las que pasaron, y en medio de ellas nunca cejaron, de hecho estaban alegres sirviendo a Dios.
Es bueno aprender de su firmeza en la fe en Cristo en medio de todo lo que encontraron.
Sabemos que todos tenemos que pasar por diversos retos y luchas en nuestra vida diaria. Y nuestro mundo actual no ayuda a ello porque el secularismo ha calado hondo en casi todos los aspectos. Del mismo modo, defender a Cristo o el Evangelio se ha convertido en una tarea dif铆cil de llevar a cabo. De hecho, en algunos lugares hoy en d铆a (especialmente en algunas partes del norte de Nigeria) uno no puede atreverse a decir que es cristiano debido a las persecuciones que sufren los cristianos en esas zonas.
Esta canci贸n nos recuerda que debemos ser implacables a la hora de defender nuestra fe en Cristo, al igual que los primeros padres.
Nos anima a permanecer fieles a la Palabra de Dios, mientras esperamos entrar en la morada de la Felicidad y la Alegr铆a eternas que s贸lo pueden encontrarse en Cristo.
