After a few days off, I'm back sharing some #kiss in this wonderful community. However, before I start, I can confess this week it was difficult for me to choose 5 things if I had to downsize my space. Until recently, I had an incredible collection of recipe books that I cherished, but when I planned to emigrate, I had to get rid of it. At first, I was a little hurt, but then I thought that they were a few books that I had read very little, so when I sold them, I thought it would be a good option for someone else to enjoy them. It's not that I don't appreciate recipe books, but nowadays, thanks to the magic of the internet, I look up the recipe I need to make, and that's it.
To say that there are 5 important objects with special meaning for me is complicated, so I'd better tell you what would be the ideal objects for me for their utilitarian purpose and the experiences they can offer me.
My dream is to downsize my space to a Tiny House. It forces you to have very few items as there is no storage space.
The first item I would take to that Tiny House would be my gardening toolbox, as I would love to learn about gardening and plant a vegetable garden. It is mind-blowing to produce your food as it is the reward for the perseverance and patience.
A couple of objects that complement each other would be my laptop and a professional camera. As you know laptop today allows access to many things that you can store on the network, so my family photos, books, and personal documents are stored in the cloud are things that I preserve but without taking up space. A laptop is also a work tool, so much of what I produce on an intellectual level is stored. It also allows me to do remote work meetings and even manage my finances from anywhere on the planet. If I get bored, I can play music or watch a good movie thanks to streaming services.
As for the camera, this would be a fabulous tool for my walks. If you have visited my blog, you know that I enjoy nature. Being able to portray magical moments in nature is amazing to me. Also, I enjoy making a log of the recipes I prepare, so the camera is a good ally. I try very hard to make my food blog visually appealing. Good images help with this.
Another thing I would take is my cello. It is a musical instrument I want to learn to play. The lack of time has delayed this, but if the cello is one of the few objects I would take to my Tiny House, believe me, it would be a great motivation to learn music. I imagine myself in the sunset playing the cello in the garden at the doors of my Tiny House...it would be a dream!
A Tiny House has the basic things like electricity, water, a bathroom, and some simple appliances. However, I would be very attentive to take a good kitchen with an oven. The kitchen doesn't have to be big, but it has to allow me to continue making delicious preparations. If I have a garden, it is the opportunity to transform those vegetables and fruits that the earth can give me. I see myself making lots of preserves and jams. Also some bread. I would like to explore how to bake in a stone oven, but that would be for spring and summer.
It occurs to me that if my Tiny House is in a lot with a nice garden, I can have a couple of tables outdoors and be a small snack bar. Nothing big, just something to serve coffee with some sweets or sandwiches.
As you can see, the things I would take with me do not mean much from an emotional point of view. However, they are the tools to experience incredible experiences through them, those that are carried only in the soul and give meaning to our life.
