A long walk on the island of Tverdysh (in 33 photos)

I have already written that the Monrepos Landscape Park is located on the island of Tverdysh. I think that the whole island is a gentle rock overgrown with moss, ferns, heather, firs and pines. Of course, not only them, but they prevail.

In addition to the park itself, which is landscaped and civilized, there is a wild part of the island covered with forest and a web of trails. There is also an organized ecological trail, equipped with decking, bridges and steps to the top of the rocks. You can choose any one and it will be beautiful everywhere.

Do you see that face in the hat? He will lead you through the wild trails today and will express his thoughts out loud a little. Welcome to the Firmament.

However, we will have to get rid of the visitors. There are a lot of them here in this weather. They even come with infants and strollers. But you won't meet them soon.

We need to go through the civilized part of the park. It is big, but we will show patience and perseverance.

Vainamainen correctly shows us the way. Forward and up. Of course, these are not the last people we met here. But then there will be less.

We clarified the route with the squirrel and the miracle happened. The eastern part of the island plunges into deep shadow in the afternoon. Such places are loved by firs, mosses, lichens and ferns. This is a dark part of the forest, but the slanting rays of the sun make their way here.

The play of light and shadow, what could be more interesting for the photographer.

But we decided not to go the usual way, but to head inland and try to get to its western part.

On the upper part of the island you will not find large trees. It is difficult to grow on almost bare rocks. But life goes on. Even here there was something to be surprised about. It was worth getting into such a wilderness to bury your nose in your smartphone... however, situations are different.

I talk too much with my tongue. The forest doesn't like that. Now I'm going to shut up and give you a little opportunity to be alone with the forest. Just follow this path and admire.

Now we are on the highest (it seems to me) part of the island of Krepysh. Stone, moss, heather and birch. It reminded me of Ruskeala and the hills of the north.

Ruskeala is a place in Karelia where marble used to be mined. It turned out that there is also a marble quarry here, but we didn't know about it then. Only today I found it on the map. So, there will be something else to look for on this island.

And we went down from this hill to the very edge of the island. What we saw there was a surprise for us. But that's another story.
