Do you see the crowds at this on this beach? This is long before lockdowns and other madness. This is a calm 2014, July is the time for summer holidays. And yet the empty beach ... fantastic. That is why we have chosen this wonderful place. It is called New Athos.

To get here, you must cross the border with Abkhazia. To do this, simply cross the Psou River over the bridge. You can move in your car, but it will take much longer. Verification is slow and the queue is large.
Чтобы сюда попасть, вы должны пересечь границу с Абхазией. Для этого просто перейдите реку Псоу по мосту. Можете переехать, но это будет гораздо дольше. Проверка осуществляется медленно и накапливается большая очередь.
I suspect that this is the only paved road in Abkhazia that runs along the coast. The mountains start on the left, the sea on the right. Moving forward, you can reach Georgia. If you're lucky. Traffic rules are rarely followed here. We drove to Sukhum and a little further into the mountains, but New Athos is much closer.

We were lucky, we got there. To the left of the bridge (in the first photo of the three), you can see a 1-storey building. This is a small cafe in which we began to eat constantly. It's right on the beach and has the best chef on the coast. The food is really delicious there. Who would have thought in appearance.

Arriving in Abkhazia, we stayed with an Armenian family on the very edge of New Athos. Even this area is called the Armenian Gorge. Now we will get to the center of New Athos and I will take time out to rest.
We have always walked along the scenic road, the one that leads you further along the coast. I must say that a lot of Schumacher fans travel here. This, of course, is not Formula 1, but ...
And the cows have more rights here than the people on the roads. Nobody signals them and they are carefully bypassed ... even if the cow lies down in the middle of the roadway.
Приехав в Абхазию мы остановились в армянской семье на самом краю Нового Афона. Даже этот район называется Армянское ущелье. Сейчас мы доберёмся до центра Нового Афона и я возьму тайм аут на отдых.
Мы всегда ходили пешком вдоль живописной дороги, той самой, которая ведёт вас дальше по побережью. Должен сказать, что здесь ездит много фанатов Шумахера. Это, конечно, не Формула-1, но...
А коровы здесь имеют больше прав чем люди на дорогах. Им никто не сигналит и их аккуратно объезжают...даже если корова ляжет посередине проезжей части.
Down here there is a camp for independent tourists in cars with tents. They have quite a lot of fun and cute there.
Здесь внизу есть лагерь для самостоятельных туристов на машинах с палатками. У них там довольно весело и мило.
And this is where the city center begins, isn't it very similar?
А вот тут начинается центр города, правда не очень похоже?
We reached the lake in the park. I will tell you the history of this lake next time. There is a whole system of reservoirs and everything is very beautiful.

By the way, the path leads to a restaurant in the middle of the lake. This is especially pleasant at night.

I must say that what amazes me most is the abundance and variety of greenery in Abkhazia. And these are not only parks. We went to the mountains and everything was thickly overgrown with trees and bushes.
Должен заметить, что больше всего меня поражает обилие и разнообразие зелени в Абхазии. И это не только парки. Мы ходили в горы и там всё густо поросло деревьями и кустарником.
During this time, we only managed to touch a part of the park and walk a little along the road. If you don't mind, in the next posts I will continue to introduce you to this amazing region. There is a lot of history, nature and simply beautiful views.
