THE EYE
Last night I was at the pyramid in Garzau with @stepko one more time. This special structure stands in the middle of the forest. I had already tried to implement the idea of putting an eye on the pyramid during my last visit. Unfortunately, I didn't succeed on that trip. However, I had not given up the idea. After thinking long and hard about how I could implement it, I made some new tools.
Letzte Nacht war ich mit @stepko ein weiteres Mal an der Pyramide in Garzau. Mitten im Wald steht dieses besondere Bauwerk. Die Idee, ein Auge auf die Pyramide zu setzen hatte ich beim letzten Besuch schon versucht umzusetzen. Beim damaligen Ausflug ist mir das leider nicht geglückt. Aufgegeben hatte ich die Idee allerdings nicht. Nach langen Überlegungen, wie ich das umsetzen könnte, bastelte ich einige neue Tools.

Above you can see the last attempt. Even though the picture is not perfect, we left it at that. Up to this result we had already worked on the picture for over two hours. The positioning of the eye on the top of the pyramid was very difficult. First we positioned a triangular template in front of the camera so that it sat on top of the pyramid. Then @stepko placed his left eye behind this triangle. I lit the eye behind the template. Then we removed the template. I changed the aperture from 4 to 8 and the focus to a greater distance. I then illuminated the pyramid and the surrounding trees. A green Convoy S2+ was used for the pyramid. I lit the trees next to the pyramid with the Emisar D18 and the trees further away with the Noctigin DM11. We shot everything in a single exposure. Apart from the crop, the image has not been processed on the computer.
Oben seht ihr den letzten Versuch. Auch wenn das Bild nicht perfekt ist, haben wir es dabei belassen. Bis zu diesem Ergebnis hatten wir bereits über zwei Stunden an dem Bild gearbeitet. Die Positionierung des Auges auf der Spitze der Pyramide gestaltete sich sehr schwierig. Zuerst positionierten wir eine dreickeckige Schablone so vor der Kamera, dass dieses oben auf der Pyramide sitzt. Hinter dieses Dreieck platzierte @stepko dann sein linkes Auge. Ich bleuchtete das Auge hinter der Schablone. Im Anschluss entfernten wir die Schablone. Ich änderte die Blende von 4 auf 8 und den Fokus auf eine größere Entfernung. Ich leuchtete dann die Pyramide und die umliegenden Bäume aus. Für die Pyramide kam eine grüne Convoy S2+ zum Einsatz. Die Bäume neben der Pyramide beleuchtete ich mit der Emisar D18, die Bäume in größerer Entfernung mit der Noctigin DM11. Alles haben wir in einer einzelnen Belichtung aufgenommen. Vom Schnitt abgesehen ist das Bild nicht am Computer bearbeitet.

In this attempt, unfortunately, the eye is a little too deep.
Bei diesem Versuch ist leider das Auge etwas zu tief.
Here, unfortunately, too much is illuminated around the eye. I then used another tool to illuminate the eye and reduced the brightness.
Hier ist leider zu viel um das Auge herum beleuchtet. Ich habe dann ein anderes Tool zum beleuchten des Auges benutzt und die Helligkeit reduziert.

As on the last visit, the full moon shone on the pyramid. So another challenge was to be brighter than the moonlight with the torches. Some other ideas we could not realise because the moonlight was too bright.
Wie beim letzten Besuch auch, beschien der Vollmond die Pyramide. Eine weitere Herausforderung bestand also darin mit den Taschenlampen heller als das Mondlicht zu sein. Einige weitere Ideen konnten wir nicht umsetzen weil das Mondlicht zu hell war.
