Photoshop is one hell of a great tool. This week's Qurator theme is tricky. There's a thin line between horizon and ordinary landscape photos. The first, more often showcases landscapes, but landscapes are not always examples of horizon. Confusing, isn't it? For me, horizon photos need to give a sense of vastness, great distances, contour lines. Said that, I decided to clue together a series of photos of the southern Brazilian Serra do Rio do Rastro to make another panorama. Here's where Photoshop shone.

My good ole laptop suffers whenever I try to create panoramas. After much procrastination, I decided to finally clue together 5 photos to form a panorama; it took quite some time. Because my lens wasn't wide enough, that was the only option to capture the whole landscape. I added a normal photo so show the difference. The result isn't perfect, but quite decent for a standard lens.

Serra do Rio do Rastro

Serra do Rio do Rastro is one of the most impressive roads in Brazil. Steep climbs, sharp turns, and spectacular viewpoints between cliffs and mountains make out the scenery. It's also generally covered in a dense fog, which makes photographing quite challenging. Taking photos here is a matter of luck. The horizon guides the eye and one can view the sea if the sky is clear. Nature didn't give me that chance.
