Hello friends! I hope you are all well!
I've always had a certain attraction to dolls abandoned in the trash, broken, dirty, forgotten. I find many symbologies (lost childhood, abuse, obsession with anthropomorphism, etc.) I think the implications are varied and each one can read it differently.
I've been working with them for years, collecting, carrying to different scenarios and photographing them.
Some of them (a series titled Invation of Scary dolls from planet Uranus) were already shared here by @photocracia (the union of two photographers: me and my son Nicolas) in Black & White last year.
Today's selection contains color images taken in previous years and some recent ones. I have two little granddaughters and they are part of the inspiration, seeing them with their dolls, taking them apart, scratching, and finally dropping them in a corner.
This is a work in progress and will hardly come to an end, as they (the dolls) continually appear asking to be portrayed.
It's basically fun for me, a way to keep shooting when work takes a break (sometimes long breaks), trying new ideas, rehearsing lighting, etc. I've been a photographer since I was a child and the withdrawal symptoms hit me hard when I don't have the camera in my hand.
I hope that this selection is also to your liking, that it can give you fun or reflection.

Olá amigos! espero que estejam todos bem!
Sempre tive uma certa atração por bonecas abandonadas no lixo, quebradas, sujas, esquecidas. Encontro muitas simbologias (infância perdida, abuso, obsessão pelo antropoformismo, etc) Acho que as implicações são variadas e cada um pode fazer uma leitura diferente.
Há anos desenvolvo um trabalho com elas, coletando, carregando a diferentes cenários e fotografando as.
Algumas delas (uma série intitulada Invation of Scary dolls from planet Uranus) já foram compartilhadas aqui por @photocracia (a união de dois fotógrafos: eu e meu filho Nicolas) em Preto & Branco no ano passado.
A seleção de hoje contém imagens coloridas feitas em anos anteriores e algumas recentes. Tenho duas netas pequenas e elas são parte da inspiração, vendo elas com suas bonecas, desmontando, riscando, e finalmente largadas num canto.
Este é um trabalho em andamento e dificilmente terá um fim, já que continuamente elas (as bonecas) aparecem pedindo para ser retratadas.
É basicamente diversão para mim, uma forma de me manter fotografando quando o trabalho dá uma pausa (às vezes longas pausas), tentando novas ideias, ensaiando iluminação, etc. Sou fotógrafo desde criança e o sintoma de abstinência me ataca forte quando não estou com a câmera na mão.
