Time; The Fabrics Of Life

There is a common denominator in life which everyone has in equal proportion without a recourse to race, tribe, status, background, class and belief; and that is Time. As equal as time is, not everyone maximise their own and as such, many just sit and watch as theirs go by. Just to let you know, a time that is wasted is already lost and may not be recovered. This is why we have to take advantage of time and create the kind of opportunity that we need. The truth is that your time here on earth is not infinite nor limitless, so you should make the most out of it and make every moment count.

Always remember that whenever you procrastinate what you are meant to do the moment to a later time, you are already wasting time and as such murdering opportunities. It will surprise you to know that the opportunity that you are hoping or wishing for is already starring you in the face but you need to look beyond the bend to be able to see them. Yes, sometimes, opportunity that comes per time may not carry an appealing form and may even look like challenges, but when you look with an open mind at them, you will see opportunities in them, and the right time to take steps in regards to the opportunity is now.

It is worthy to note that, just like opportunities, time does not wait for anyone - obviously, time is also an opportunity of it's own. More so, many things are affected by the passage of time and so the actions that you need to take should be taken promptly. Otherwise, a time may come when taking the action may be inconsequential and the action may be futile. No wonder it has been said time and again that "delaying an action is more or less like total inaction."

It is true that we have time in common, but it is also a greater truth that we all use time differently. How you utilise your time is not a function of how much time you have or the lack of it, but it is purely a choice that you have made. Those dreams that you have and those ideas that you have created, now is the time to put action towards them. Many people spend so much time in dreaming without even putting effort and actions towards the dream. Just to let you know, things will only change when actions are put into them, not by wishing nor by continuous dreaming.

I remember what a friend told me. During the start of the ASUU strike for university students some months ago, she enrolled into a fashion school to learn how to sew clothes. While others where engaged in things that are not worthwhile and hoping for the strike to be called off so that they can go back to school, she took advantage of the time to learn a skill. Now, after about 4 months, the strike is yet to be called off but she has already acquired a skill. If the strike gets called off and she goes back to school, she can be engaging in the skill that she had learnt to make money while studying. While others were waiting for opportunities, she took advantage of the opportunity that she already saw instead of just wasting time like others.

Just as words cannot be recalled, time also cannot be recalled - once they are gone, you cannot get them back. So we should be cautious of what we do with our time. What you do with your time today is like a seed that you sow into your future, which you will reap the fruits as results tomorrow. There is no action you take today that does not have consequences. More so, not taking actions also carries its own consequences. So, instead of waiting for the right opportunity (which may not even come) to take that action, you can take it now and you will be glad you did. In conclusion, it is worthy to note that in all fairness to nature, life has given everyone an equal time, but what you do with yours is entirely your responsibility.
