Three Tune Tunes.

So I have been following @ablaze's three tune Tuesday and he has gone for 3 songs from the band The XX this week. Some good songs and 3 songs that again wouldn't be the first I would think of from The XX. I have decided to follow @ablaze in picking 3 songs from one band. Bands I have been listening to very lately.
This week I went with a band that I have a history with. I kinda went through life with them as well as my pick of the Beatles last week.
The band is called Interpol. Most of you will know them. Again they were around in the 90's when I was peak festival going but I always liked their music. And the 3 songs below are 3 of my favourite. I dabble a bit on the guitar just for the craic of getting a song down by your heroes and I find the Interpol songs are an excellent band to play guitar with if you are an aging wannabe rock star. Here's my stash. I get some sound out of the Gibson on the right. It's funny. I reading @ablaze's Three Tune Tuesday for a few weeks now and he writes the lyrics on each song which I always enjoy so I'm gonna do that this week. I'm shit with lyrics but I could tell you the chords.

1.Evil

I love the punchy guitar in this. Interpol have their own style. Would you believe they wrote the song about Fred West and Rosemary West. The mass murderers in Britain. Not that I like them. I just like the song.

Rosemary, heaven restores you in life
You're coming with me
Through the aging, the fearing, the strife
It's the smiling on the package
It's the faces in the sand
It's the thought that moves you upwards
Embracing me with two hands
Right will take you places
Yeah maybe to the beach
When your friends they do come crying
Tell them now your pleasure's set upon slow release
Hey wait
Great smile
Sensitive to fate, not denial
But hey, who's on trial?
It took a life span with no cell mate
The long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
He speaks about travel
Yeah we think about the land
We smart like all peoples
Feeling real tan
I could take you places
Do you need a new man?
Wipe the pollen from the faces
Make revision to a dream while you wait in the van
Hey wait
Great smile
Sensitive to fate, not denial
But hey, who's on trial?
It took a life span with no cell mate
To find the long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
You're weightless, you are exotic
You need something for which to care
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
It's a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good brand
You've come to love me lightly
Yeah you come to hold me tight
Is this motion ever lasting
Or just shutters pass through the night?
Rosemary, heaven restores you in life
I spent a life span with no cell mate
The long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
You're weightless, semi-erotic
You need someone to take you there
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
Why can't we just play the other game?
Why can't we just look the other way?

2. Obstacle

Again it's all about the guitar here. I love the kinda solo here before the chorus. The clean guitar then into distortion. A proper indie band. Hook it to my vains.

I wish I could eat the salt off
Of your lost faded lips
We can cap the old times
Make playing only logical harm
We can cap the old lines
Make playing that nothing else will change
But she can read, she can read, she can read
She can read she's bad
She can read, she can read
She can read she's bad
Oh, she's bad
But it's different now that I'm poor and aging
I'll never see this face again
You go stabbing yourself in the neck
And we can find new ways of living
Make playing only logical harm
And we can top the old times
Clay making that nothing else will change
But she can read, she can read, she can read
She can read, she's bad
She can read, she can read
She can, read she's bad
Oh, she's bad
It's different now that I'm poor and aging
I'll never see this place again
You go stabbing yourself in the neck
But it's different now that I'm poor and aging
I'll never see this place again
And you go stabbing yourself in the neck
It's in the way that she posed
It's in the things that she puts in my head
Her stories are boring and stuff
She's always calling my bluff
She puts, oh she puts the weights into my little heart
And she gets in my room and she takes it apart
She puts the weights into my little heart
I said she puts the weights into my little heart
She packs it away
She packs it away
She packs it away
She packs it away
She packs it away
She packs it away
She packs it away
It's in the way that she walks
Her heaven is never enough
She puts the weights in my heart
She puts, oh she puts the weights into my little heart

3.No I in Threesome.

The last song is one of my all time favourite songs. It starts off very slow and just builds and builds and builds. It's a great song. I just love it. The ending is just class. Interpol at their best.

Through the storms and the light
Baby, you stood by my side
And life is wine
But there are days in this life
When you see the teeth marks of time
Two lovers divide
Sound meets sound, babe
Her echoes, they surround
And all that we need is one thing
Now what is there to allow?
Babe, it's time
We gave something new a try
Oh alone we may fight
So just let us be three
And baby tonight
I see your lips are on fire
And life is wine
Now the windows are open
The moon is so bright
No one can tell us
What love brings for you and I
Sound meets sound, babe
The echoes, they surround
And all that we need is one thing
Now what is there to allow?
Babe, it's time
We give something new a try
Oh, alone we may fight
So just let us be three
Tonight
Through the storms and the light
Baby, you stood by my side
And life is wine
You feel the sweet breath of time
It's whispering its truth, not mine
There's no I
In threesome
And I am all for it
Babe, it's time
We give something new a try
Oh alone we may fight
And feathers bend like trees
In the moonlight
Babe, its time
We give something new a try
Oh alone we may fight
So just let us be three
Tonight
