Close your eyes and keep them closed - It's a magical way to fall asleep

Now more than ever, it has become important for us to know when to press pause button irrespective of the number of work we have on our table.

The way we multitask in our bid to get things done and a whole lot of other activities we have on our to-do list tends to make each day stressful for us. When this stress comes in, it takes a huge toll on our health and also leads to breakdown if necessary stress relief exercises are overlooked.

The downside to this is, it keeps you inactive for some hours, or days. In severe cases, the cost of taking care of your health can dig deep into your savings. By the end of the day, you end up having more work on your hand, wasting your time on a sickbed, struggling to regain your health and running depleting your account balance. Everything goes back to square one because you chose to be robotic instead of managing your stress like everyother human out there.

What do you need to do to avoid breakdown despite all series of activities that calls for your attention?

The first step to this is to know the right time to take a break from all the workload that are piled up on your desk. You don't have to be robotic about work. Knowing the right time to step out of your office (physical or virtual) is also an important skill that needs to be adopted by everyone.

There is a long list of activities that can be done as a preventive measure for stress. Doing mild exercise, eating properly, staying connected to people who give us rest of mind and sleeping are just a few of these activities that need to be done to have an upper hand above stress.

While all of these seems to be very easy to do, it also requires a high level of discipline to stick with them.

Sleeping properly has been posing a big challenge to me since years ago. I know that it is important to sleep properly but I hardly get more than 5 hours of sleep per day. I didn't see this as a problem. I was always of the opinion that l can forfeit sleep now so that l wouldn't have to do so in the future, but after the dialogue l had with the Loml, I decided to always give myself a deserved rest so that l can always give my 101% whenever I'm awake.

This is what led me to start trying different methods that can help me to sleep whenever l have an opportunity to sleep. I did my research and met some dead ends during my series of trial and error.

Do you know the easiest way to fall asleep without having to spend most of your bedtime wallowing in deep thought and staring into space?

Sleep can come in many forms and I've seen articles that emphasise the Importance of sleeping 8 hours per day. Some do this at a stretch while others partition theirs so, they end up sleeping during the daytime and at night. It must be good to be among those that can easily close your eyes and embrace the angel of sleep, but not all of us are that lucky.

Sleeping during the day is a pain for someone like me.

I've been convinced that it's an impossible thing for me to do. When it comes to sleeping at night, the earliest l can sleep is by midnight.

Note: For anyone that is reading this, you need to know that this isn't a habit to brag about.

It's just that way with me but all thanks to a special someone, I've been able to figure out a way to cool my brain whenever the need arises.

The simple trick is to Close your eyes and keep them closed.

I've heard that some people close their eyes and off they go to the land of sleep. I've also seen this on several occasions but it never occurred to me that it can be effective when practised.

Now that I'm writing this, it reminds me of one of my roomies during my University days. Once his back comes in contact with any mattress, you will see him snoring the next minute. The level of noise in a room was never a constraint for him. It's just like magic. His magic!

Seems like l can now call that magic my magic because l was able to sleep this afternoon for the very first time in a long while. I would like to try this again. All l need to do is to close my eyes and keep them closed.

Would you like to give it a try?
