SplinterGlossary: Player versus Player (PvP)
This is an expression that distinguishes the situation where two or more players are matched in combat in a game (or where they interact in a game), as opposed to interacting with game elements or playing against game-controlled opponents, which is called Player versus Environment (PvE).
