Once a Gamer, Always a Gamer

Just like you and everyone else, I love to play a lot of game when I was a little boy. I used to play PS 1 and PC games, but the first game that made me fell in love is "Yu-Gi-Oh!". Since I was in elementary school, I started my Yugioh collection and I has been always played the game with my friends on almost every weekend. This is me with some of my Yugioh cards when I was in high school (14 years ago).

I remember one day in 2007, my friend Kaut ask me to join a Yugioh tournament and we bravely attended the tourney. Tragically, the event organizer told me that we are unable to join because we were using fake cards. Eventually, I also realized that the price of the original cards is so expensive. So, I realized it is impossible for me to buy the cards. That day was full of sorrow and my collection stop to grow.

But my passion for Yugioh has never been gone. I am still playing those fake cards with my friends in high school and college. Then I started to collect the original cards since I start to take part-time jobs when I was in college.

Fast forward to 2016, I am starting to play Duel Links. This is the mobile version of Yugioh. That game made so obsessed playing Yugioh again. Sometime I bring my phone to bathroom so I could continue playing the game even though I am taking a bath. I was consistently playing this game until someday in July 2021, which is the day that I knew crypto, NFT, and Play to Earn games, especially Splinterlands.

Splinterlands

Being a card game, Splinterlands has a lot of similarity with Yugioh. Even better, because Splinterlands needs shorter time and more various meta. I will deep dive into this comparison in another blogpost. Currently, I am playing Splinterlands everyday in the Gold League with scholarships from NFTy Arcade. Thank you NFTy Arcade!

As a Splinterlands player, I felt that I have learned a lot but at the same time I know that still a lot of things to be mastered. I will use my blog page as a media to summarize everything I learned and any cool achievement from Splinterlands.

Board Game Addict

As a gamer, I also have great passion on board games. Since 2019, I was a big fan of some strategy board games such as Splendor, Ticket to Ride, Azul, Catan, Wingspan, etc. I have a growing collection of board games which I usually play with my family and my friends too. This is my board game collections that I consistently bought since 2020.

If you have the same interest, maybe we can play together online! Even better, we can play in a board game cafe as long as you live in Jakarta like me. This is me & my friends after playing board games all day long in a board game cafe in Pluit, Jakarta.

Once every month, I regularly attend tournaments in a local board game store in Jakarta. I am proud to say that my record is pretty good. From 5 tourney that I attended, I successfully advanced to the final round 4 times, but mostly i lost at the final rounds LOL. I have just won only one time, which is the Splendor Marvel tourney. Here is picture of me winning the tourney & getting the grand prize!
