I confess that I was not convinced to take this step, but some colleagues in the work area that I direct have spoken so highly of the benefits of Hive that I decided to create a profile. An important element to belong to this platform was the impulse of the young people who entered our institute this year and have told me about the knowledge that they can modestly contribute and above all, what they can learn. I admit that I am still skeptical, but I like to share knowledge, to learn, to make known what I have written and researched and it seems to me that in some of the communities that exist here I will be able to achieve these objectives. But the truth is, my knowledge of being on a platform is scarce. Mi nombre es Antonio Manuel Nápoles Rivero y mis amistades y compañeros de trabajo me dicen Tony. Soy Licenciado en Educación, en la especialidad de Geografía. Soy Profesor Auxiliar de la Educación Superior y cursé y aprobé una especialidad de postgrado en Psicopedagogía. Me desempeñé como profesor durante 30 años y desde el 3 de octubre del 2017 soy el director de Gestión del Conocimiento, en el Instituto de Geología y Paleontología, Servicio Geológico de Cuba, dirección que en este centro atiende el Centro Nacional de Información Geológica, el Sistema de Gestión de la Calidad, Comunicación y Marketing, Banco de Datos de la República de Cuba e Informática y Redes.

He sido un trotamundos en mi país, pues nací en la provincia Camagüey, me crié en Las Tunas, cursé los estudios secundarios y preuniversitarios en Matanzas y viví por 17 años en Moa, Holguín. Actualmente vivo en la Habana con mi esposa, con la que cumplo 25 años de relación el 29 de octubre de este 2022. Mi esposa tiene dos hijos y llegué a sus vidas, cuando tenían 10 y 5 años de edad. No tengo hijos biológicos, pero estos dos jóvenes y los estudiantes que eduqué y formé durante 30 años me hacen ser uno de los padres más orgullosos del mundo.
Mi familia también la conforman mis 5 hermanos, mis sobrinas, sobrinos, mis cuñadas y cuñados. Este es mi mayor tesoro y lo que más quiero en esta vida.
My name is Antonio Manuel Nápoles Rivero and my friends and co-workers call me Tony. I have a degree in Education, specializing in Geography. I am an Assistant Professor of Higher Education and I studied and passed a postgraduate specialty in Psychopedagogy. I worked as a professor for 30 years and since October 3, 2017 I am the director of Knowledge Management, at the Institute of Geology and Paleontology, Geological Service of Cuba, direction that in this center attends the National Center of Geological Information, the Quality Management System, Communication and Marketing, Data Bank of the Republic of Cuba and Information Technology and Networks.
I have been a globetrotter in my country, because I was born in the Camagüey province, I grew up in Las Tunas, I attended secondary and pre-university studies in Matanzas and I lived for 17 years in Moa, Holguín. I currently live in Havana with my wife, with whom I will celebrate 25 years of relationship on October 29, 2022. My wife has two children and I came into their lives when they were 10 and 5 years old. I have no biological children, but these two young people and the students I educated and trained for 30 years make me one of the proudest parents in the world. My family is also made up of my 5 siblings, my nieces, nephews, my sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. This is my greatest treasure and what I love the most in this life.
¿Cómo ha sido la aventura de mi vida?
Nací el 1ro de enero de 1967, en Guáimaro municipio de Camagüey, la provincia más grande de Cuba y tuve una niñez bastante feliz, a pesar de la recia educación que nos dieron mis padres a mis hermanos y a mí. Siempre me gustaron los deportes (una de mis pasiones) y logré participar en Juegos Escolares Nacionales. En 1982 fui Campeón Nacional y medallista de bronce, en atletismo, en las especialidades de lanzamiento de la jabalina y la impulsión de la bala. De igual manera participé en eventos nacionales en otros deportes, como baloncesto, balonmano y voleibol. Practiqué fútbol, béisbol, judo, boxeo y ajedrez. Como ven mi gran pasión por los deportes viene desde pequeño.

How has the adventure of my life been?
I was born on January 1, 1967, in the Guáimaro municipality of Camagüey, the largest province in Cuba, and I had a fairly happy childhood, despite the tough upbringing my parents gave me and my siblings. I always liked sports (one of my passions) and managed to participate in National School Games. In 1982 I was National Champion and bronze medalist in athletics, in the javelin throw and shot put specialties. In the same way I participated in national events in other sports such as basketball, handball and volleyball. I practiced soccer, baseball, judo, boxing and chess. As you can see, my great passion for sports comes from a young age.
Otra de mis pasiones fueron los estudios y eso se lo debo a mi madre, quien, a pesar de apenas alcanzar el 12 grado, fue muy estricta en todo lo referente a nuestra formación cultural. Gracias a todo lo anterior descubrí mundos que no sabía que existían y me enamoré de los libros; recorrí universos imaginarios, desde Grecia, con la Ilíada de Homero hasta Macondo, con los Cien Años de Soledad del colombiano Gabriel García Márquez. Descubrí asesinatos junto a Hércules Poirot y Sherlock Holmes, cabalgué con Don Quijote y Sancho y combatí contra los molinos gigantes. En fin, en los libros encontré otra fuente de conocimientos, entretenimiento y desarrollo.
Another of my passions was studying and I owe that to my mother, who, despite barely reaching 12th grade, was very strict in everything related to our cultural training. Thanks to all of the above, I discovered worlds that I did not know existed and I fell in love with books; I traveled through imaginary universes, from Greece, with Homer's Iliad, to Macondo, with Colombian Gabriel García Márquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. I discovered murders alongside Hercules Poirot and Sherlock Holmes, rode with Don Quixote and Sancho and fought against giant windmills. Anyway, in books I found another source of knowledge, entertainment and development.
Comencé a trabajar, como profesor de Geografía, en 1986. A partir de ese momento y por espacio de 30 años trabajé en el sector educacional. Además de profesor, fui jefe de departamento, subdirector docente, subdirector de internado y director de Secundaria Básica. Esa 1ra etapa concluyó en 2003, pues en ese mismo año me dieron la misión de dirigir la Filial Universitaria Pedagógica de Moa, tarea que estuve desarrollando hasta el 2017. Nunca pensé ser profesor, esa es la verdad. Siempre le decía a mi mamá que, si tenía que ser médico o maestro no estudiaba más, pues quería ser ingeniero, pero no pudo ser y por esas cosas que tiene el destino nuevamente mi madre, en una etapa difícil de mi vida me puso en una disyuntiva: debía trabajar y tenía dos opciones debía ser ayudante de albañil o profesor, pero como le había dicho que nunca sería maestro me dijo que seguro quería ser ayudante de albañil. Ahí comenzó mi andar por el sector educacional, algo que agradezco infinitamente a mi figura materna, pues fue ahí donde cultivé lo que soy hoy en día y donde tuve la mayor cantidad de mis logros profesionales y personales.

Para que tengan una idea:
•El trabajo en educación me permitió alcanzar una cultura general integral;
•En este trabajo conocí a mi esposa Estela Charchabal Reyes;
•En educación pude crecer profesionalmente, pues logré alcanzar los títulos de Licenciado en Geografía, Especialista de Postgrado en Docencia en Psicopedagogía, cursé 7 diplomados y más de 50 postgrados.
•Por este trabajo pude dirigir una secundaria básica y estar durante 13 años al frente de una filial universitaria.
•Estando en educación pude representar a mi país en la querida Venezuela, mi segunda patria y donde dejé muchos compañeros que son como familias para mí.
•A esta profesión le dediqué 30 años de mi vida.

I started working as a Geography teacher in 1986. From that moment and for 30 years, I worked in the educational sector. In addition to being a teacher, I was department head, teaching deputy director, boarding school deputy director and director of Secondary School. That 1st stage ended in 2003, because in that same year I was given the mission of directing the Moa Pedagogical University Branch, a task that I was developing until 2017. I never thought I would be a teacher, that's the truth. I always told my mother that, if I had to be a doctor or a teacher, I would not study anymore, because I wanted to be an engineer, but it could not be and because of those things that fate has again, my mother, in a difficult stage of my life, put me in I had a dilemma: I had to work and I had two options: I had to be a bricklayer's assistant or a teacher, but since I had told him that I would never be a teacher, he told me that he would surely want to be a bricklayer's assistant. My journey through the educational sector began there, something that I am infinitely grateful to my mother figure, because it was there that I cultivated what I am today and where I had the greatest number of my professional and personal achievements.
To give you an idea:
•The work in education allowed me to achieve a comprehensive general culture;
•In this job I met my wife Estela Charchabal Reyes;
•In education I was able to grow professionally, since I managed to obtain the titles of Bachelor of Geography, Postgraduate Specialist in Teaching in Psychopedagogy, I studied 7 diplomas and more than 50 postgraduate degrees.
•Because of this job, I was able to direct a junior high school and be in charge of a university branch for 13 years.
•Being in education I was able to represent my country in my beloved Venezuela, my second homeland and where I left many classmates who are like families to me.
•I dedicated 30 years of my life to this profession.
Como ven tengo que agradecer a mi mamá por su gran sabiduría y sus exigencias. Quizás se pregunten quién es, dónde vive y a qué se dedica. Mi madre vive en mí, hace 4 años cambió de forma, para convertirse en un ser superior, seguir guiando mi vida y habitar eternamente en el lado izquierdo de mi pecho. Entonces se preguntarán por qué hablo de ella en presente. Además de lo anterior les respondo: A las personas como ella no se despiden en duelos, sino que se llevan con uno, para toda la vida y se sigue su ejemplo.
Por esas casualidades de la vida mi mamá y mi esposa se llaman igual: ESTELA, que igual podría ser Estrella, porque ambas lo son.
