Dear @freedom And Whales: Here's a SP Delegatee Menu To Solve The Vote Selling Problem

new-piktochart_23824084 (1).png

In the wake of the @zeartul @bellyrub fiasco (DO NOT SEND MONEY TO @BELLYRUB!), I'm happy to announce to the entire Steem community that I, along with a number of very ethical and concerned Steemians have come up with one solution right now to help Planet Steem thrive.

This idea emerged organically, from many people all at once and we feel that this solution can be a test pilot, complete with transparent data and analytics to determine its efficacy. @paulag and the entire BI Steemit community is encouraged to evaluate this pilot.

@lexiconical, @beanz, @inquiringtimes, @kubbyelizabeth as well as a number of other solid people have been working quietly behind the scenes to come up with a solution to the vote selling and general scamosphere that has been making a lot of us feel disgusted recently. I am not going to engage in weighing the good bid bot vs. bad bid bot type of discussion, as I personally feel that vote selling of all kinds is misguided.

I believe there is a better way.

We have become aware that the social cultivators, the really talented curators, the highly ethical and empathic people are not being recognized nor rewarded in the current algorithm, and also no one has been able to effectively measure human happiness-generating activities on the blockchain. As we all know, investors move into spaces where human happiness rules. This is a no-brainer. Investors, the decent ones, will immediately leave an atmosphere which is tainted with scams.

Therefore, we have worked hard to create a SP delegation menu of cultivators for the whales and dolphins of Steemit. It is in no way complete, and other foreign language communities are encouraged to make their own lists. Each person on this list has been referred to me by a trusted source. I don’t know them all personally, but my trusted sources do. All of us who are working on these solutions will not be directly compensated, and none of us are on the potential delegates list.

@ned’s latest move to decline the beneficiary profits from his @utopian-io SP delegation further illustrates the need for more ethical whales to step forward and test out this new pilot. We all want the price of Steem to increase and we think this has the best shot at it.

@ned, @fulltimegeek (and others?) and myself have started to search out people who are leaders, cultivators, ethically sound builders and prolific creators.

We have begun delegating our SP freely, as a way to speed up the growth of new communities. All three of us are long-term thinkers. We all know that creating real value takes time, and that we are in the long-term game. This latest fiasco with @zeartul and @bellyrub shows us how vote selling for short-term gains is a flawed direction. A bunch of us in Planet Steem know of a better direction, and we have already started taking it. We welcome anyone to join us.

As of today, I have freely given SP delegations to the following people:
@paulag, @inquiringtimes, @mikepm74, @limabeing, @thekittygirl, @ilovekc, @kubbyelizabeth (am i missing some?). After @fulltimegeek found out I was freely giving SP delegations, he matched my delegations and then added some more of his own.

This list is not complete and it may not be 100% accurate as far as the categories are concerned. However, I know a majority of the people on this list, and I can stand behind them.

HOW THE DELEGATION PILOT WORKS: $5K SP and 3 Months

Pick a few accounts and give them each $5K SP delegation.

  1. The Business Intelligence community will study how well their $5K delegation was utilized. (Keep in mind, human happiness factors cannot be analyzed using current tools.)
  2. The delegatees who perform well are given more SP.
  3. You of course can decide the amount and length of time, but $5K is a suggestion and 3 months seems like a good time period.

I want to stress one thing: honest, ethical social cultivators are greatly needed in Planet Steem.

To have a healthy ecosystem, we need more cultivators who are able to become powered up. This is one of the central flaws of our current algorithm, and something I wish to be able to measure and get community support on in the future.

If you want to know specific things about the people on this menu, you can DM me in Discord. @lexiconical also knows a lot and he was instrumental in putting together the list. He has more detailed info too. @inquiringtimes helped immensely also.

So, whales and dolphins, here’s your menu. What will you order?

(If you think someone belongs on this list, comment below. Don't add yourself though.)
