Our second stop on our spontaneous camper-tour to Prague was in Vohenstrauß. Vohenstrauss is a town in Bavaria in the Upper Palatinate Forest and is located about 20 km from the Czech border.
Die historische Kleinstadt liegt an der Goldenen Straße, der wichtigsten spätmittelalterlichen Handelsstraße zwischen Nürnberg und Prag.
The historical small town is situated on the Golden Road, the most important late medieval trade route between Nuremberg and Prague.
Das Renaissance-Schloss Friedrichsburg wurde ab 1586 erbaut und ist das Wahrzeichen der Stadt. In den Räumen finden das ganze Jahr über kulturelle Veranstaltungen statt. Auf dem Schlossgelände finden auch Open-Air-Konzerte und ein jährliches Oldtimertreffen statt.
The Renaissance castle Friedrichsburg was built from 1586 and is the landmark of the city. Cultural events are held in the rooms throughout the year. The castle grounds also host open-air concerts and an annual vintage car meeting.

... ist ein kostenloser Stellplatz für 16 Wohnmobile, der ganzjährig genutzt werden kann. Der Platz ist geschottert und weitgehend eben und befindet sich auf dem Festplatz neben der Stadthalle am Ortsrand von Vohenstrauß. Die Versorgung mit Frischwasser und Strom sowie die Entsorgung von Grauwasser und Chemietoilette sind kostenlos. Es gibt ausgewiesene Rad- und Wanderwege.
... is a free parking space for 16 motorhomes, which can be used all year round. The site is gravelled and largely level and is located on the fairground next to the civic hall on the outskirts of Vohenstrauß. The supply of fresh water and electricity as well as the disposal of gray water and chemical toilet are free of charge. There are designated cycling and hiking trails.
