Hello friends, welcome to my blog, I am pleased to participate again in this new installment of contests that the CineTV community. This week's contest is about which anime marked us and it was special for us because it left us a lesson or teaching, for me that anime is Candy Candy and before talking about what I learned from it, I will tell you a little about its creators . Candy was a Japanese Shojo (girls) manga, written under the pseudonym of Keiko Nagita (Kyoko Mizuki), who wrote and illustrated it, and the magaka Yumiko Igarashi, from 1975 to 1979. It was later adapted into an anime series by Toei Animation between 1976 to 1979.

Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, me es grato volver a participar en esta nueva entrega de concursos que la comunidad de CineTV. El concurso de esta semana se trata de que anime nos marcó y fue especial para nosotros porque nos dejara una lección o enseñanza, para mí ese anime es Candy Candy y antes de hablar de lo que aprendí de ella, les hablaré un poco de sus creadores. Candy fue un manga japonés Shojo (para chicas), escrito bajo el seudónimo de Keiko Nagita (Kyoko Mizuki), quien lo escribió e ilustro y la magaka Yumiko Igarashi, desde 1975 a 1979. Luego fue adaptada para una serie anime por Toei Animation entre 1976 a 1979.

The first time I saw Candy was when I was 12 years old and it quickly became a success for my generation and the following ones in my country that even today it continues to be broadcast on free television. Candy Candy not only caught the group of girls, but also the boys because it was not an ordinary anime for children, it touched on themes such as first love, friendship, loyalty and the desire to improve despite adversity. Subjects that we did not know how to appreciate as pre-adolescents, but over the years we were later able to appreciate from a more mature perspective.

La primera vez que vi Candy fue cuando contaba con 12 años y rápidamente se convirtió en un éxito de mi generación y las siguientes en mi país que incluso hoy se sigue retransmitiendo por la televisión libre. Candy Candy no solo nos atrapó al grupo de niñas, sino también a los chicos porque no era un anime común y corriente para niños, tocaba temas como el primer amor, la amistad, la lealtad y las ganas de superación a pesar de las adversidades. Temas que de pre adolescentes no supimos apreciar, pero a lo largo de los años pudimos luego apreciar desde una óptica más madura.

All the girls fell in love with one of his characters, Terry with his rebelliousness, Anthony with his tenderness, Albert with his maturity. For me and my friends those were our first crush. The incredible thing about this anime is that it not only caught the girls but also the boys who also watched it and we all talked about what happened in each chapter and gave our opinions. Candy Candy was not just another anime, it was a meeting point between pre-adolescents who spoke without fear of those who seemed fair or not about anime, it was a kind of soap opera where each one had their favorite and hated character, but in where we all agreed to talk about our concerns about love that even many of us were unaware of.

Todas las chicas niñas estuvimos enamoradas de alguno de sus personajes, Terry con su rebeldía, Anthony con su ternura, Albert con su madurez. Para mí y mis amigas esos fueron nuestros primeros crush. Lo increíble de este anime es que no solo atrapo a las niñas sino también a los niños que también la veían y todos hablábamos de lo que acontecía en cada capítulo y dábamos nuestras opiniones. Candy Candy no solo fue un anime más, fue un punto de encuentro entre pre adolescentes que hablaban sin miedo de los que le parecía justo o no del anime, era una especie de telenovela en donde cada uno tenía su personaje favorito y odiado, pero en donde todos coincidíamos para hablar de nuestras inquietudes sobre el amor que aun muchos de nosotros desconocían.

This anime highlighted values such as friendship and helping others, as a premise that everyone is good until proven otherwise, no matter how bad the person has or because they are not what we would like. Something curious that I never thought until I started writing this post, is that this influenced me because I have applied this throughout my life, not to judge or think that someone is bad just because their character is grumpy, if I have not yet treaty. I start from the premise that everyone is good until proven otherwise.

Este anime, resaltaba valores como la amistad y el ayudar al prójimo, como premisa que todos son buenos hasta que se demuestre lo contrario, por muy mal carácter que tenga la persona o por no ser como nosotros quisiéramos. Algo curioso que nunca pensé hasta que comencé a escribir este post, es que esto influencio en mí porque he aplicado esto a lo largo de mi vida, no juzgar o pensar que alguien es malo solo porque su carácter sea gruñón, si aún no lo he tratado. Parto de la premisa que toda persona es buena hasta que demuestre lo contrario.

Other things that we saw when watching this anime is that its main character and his friends grew up to be young adults, seeing how they were facing obstacles, deaths of loved ones, without losing the will for life, fighting for their dreams, but above all, to continue dreaming regardless of adversities as terrible as war, abandonment and losses, showed us that everything is possible. They are lessons that remain in our psyches and that we do not appreciate when we are young, but that we later realize how important they are.

Otras de las cosas que vimos al ver este anime es que su personaje principal y sus amigos crecieron hasta ser jóvenes adultos, ver cómo iban enfrentándose a obstáculos, muertes de seres queridos, sin perder las ganas por la vida, el luchar por sus sueños, pero sobre todo seguir soñando sin importar las adversidades tan terribles como la guerra, el abandono y perdidas, nos mostró que todo es posible. Son lecciones que se nos quedan en los siques y que no apreciamos de jóvenes, pero que luego nos damos cuenta de lo importantes que son.

Candy Candy was not only an entertainment anime, because it was born from a manga that is deep stories of Japanese fables that have a deep background of life. Today as an adult I realize all those subliminal aspects that this anime left me, that it was much more than a pink story of young love. Candy Candy for me was and is special because of the memories that I left not only for seeing her, but for those moments with my friends who met at school to talk about her, moments of camaraderie where we were all free, without prejudice and capable to conquer the world. That's why this will forever be my special anime.

Candy Candy, no solo fue un anime de entretenimiento, porque nacido de un manga que son historias profundas de las fábulas japonesas que tienen un trasfondo profundo de la vida. Hoy siendo adulta me doy cuenta de todos esos aspectos subliminales que este anime me dejo, que fue mucho más que una historia rosa de amor juvenil. Candy Candy para mí fue y es especial por los recuerdos que me dejo no únicamente por verla, sino por esos momentos con mis amigos que nos reuníamos en el colegio para hablar de ella, momentos de camarería en donde todos éramos libres, sin prejuicios y capaces de conquistar al mundo. Por ello esta será por siempre mi anime especial.
