It is a pleasure to be able to visit again this great community in which DIY lovers abound who dare to do things for themselves, I hope that everyone is very well; Today I have come to share with you a little about a repair I made to the roof of my house a few days ago.

Es un placer poder visitar nuevamente esta grandiosa comunidad en la que abundan los amantes del bricolaje que se atreven hacer las cosas por si mismo, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien; el día de hoy he venido a compartir con ustedes un poco de lo que fue una reparación que realice en el techo de mi casa, hace unos días atrás.

Since I finished the construction of my room I have felt very comfortable in the house, but so much comfort has made me forget that many repairs still need to be done in my home; With the arrival of the rainy season, I remembered again all the work that I need to do in order to have a decent home. It has been raining lately and inside my house in a space where the roof is made of zinc sheets the entire floor is flooded, because those sheets are all deteriorated and produce many leaks where the water enters the interior of the house.

Desde que terminé la construcción de mí habitación me he sentido muy cómodo en la casa, pero tanta comodidad me a hecho olvidar que todavía hace falta realizar muchas reparaciones en mí hogar; con la llegada de la temporada de lluvias recordé nuevamente todo el trabajo que me falta realizar para poder tener un digno hogar. Ha estado lloviendo últimamente y dentro de mí casa en un espacio donde el techo es de láminas de zinc todo el piso se inunda, porque esas laminas estan todas deterioradas y producen muchas goteras por donde entra el agua al Interior de la casa.

Before I built the front of my house, to cover the facade I used zinc sheets; Now that I remove them from the front, those sheets can be used to repair the roof, although those sheets are not in perfect condition either, I had to choose the ones that had less rust and holes to be able to use them.

Antes de que yo construyera el frente de mí casa, para cubrir la fachada utilizaba unas láminas de zinc; ahora que las quite del frente esas laminas me pueden servir para reparar el techo, aunque tampoco es que esas laminas estan en perfectas condiciones, tuve que elegir las que tenían menos oxido y agujeros para poder utilizarlas.

As there was no one else in the house at the time I made the repair, I could not record the entire process with photographs, changing the sheets; I used some pieces of wood to make some supports in some places where the zinc sheets have dents that cats make when they jump on the roof, those dents cause the leaks.

Como en la casa no había mas nadie en el momento que realice la reparación, no pude registrar con fotografías todo el proceso cambiando las láminas; utilicé algunos retazos de madera para hacer unos apoyos en algunas partes donde las láminas de zinc tienen abolladuras que hacen los gatos cuando saltan en el techo, esa abolladuras ocasionan las goteras.

Also use some iron tubes to give more resistance to the roof and when the cats walk on top, the sheet does not sink so easily, because below it will have a firm support.

También utilicé algunos tubos de hierro para darle mas resistencia al techo y cuando los gatos se paseen por arriba, ya no se hunda la lamina con tanta facilidad, porque abajo va a tener un apoyo firme.

In that part I could not change the zinc sheet, because the skeleton of the column of the house did not allow me to put another sheet there, but I used a funnel that I had saved and is used to make drainage channels for the roofs, I placed it in the most appropriate place and below I will place a container to contain the water that falls.

En esa parte no pude cambiar la lámina de zinc, porque el esqueleto de la columna de la casa no me permitió poner otra lámina allí, pero utilice un embudo que tenía guardado y se utiliza para hacer canales de desagüe para los techos, lo coloque en el lugar mas apropiado y abajo colocaré un recipiente para contener el agua que caiga.

It is obvious that all these repairs are only preventive to try to prevent the interior of the house from flooding during this rainy season; Currently I do not have the capital to replace the roof with new sheets, so I chose to solve it this way in the meantime; I fully trust myself and I know that next year I will make a great effort to renovate the entire roof of my house. Es obvio que todas estas reparaciones son solo preventivas para intentar evitar que en esta temporada de lluvias se inunde el interior de la casa; actualmente no cuento con el capital para remplazar el techo con láminas nuevas, por eso opté por resolver de esta manera mientras tanto; confío plenamente en mí y se que el año que viene haré un gran esfuerzo para renovar todo ese techo de mí casa.
