Getting back to the Metro Station Chabacano in the middle of Mexico City, I had to realize there are way more murals than I'd first thought. Of course, the entire complex is gigantic, with three lines converging from six different directions, offering plenty of wall space to be adorned by murals. And apparently the artists have taken advantage of it.
The wall I'd like to present today, is in fact on the opposite side of the one in my last Mexican Murals post, with the blue metro line (number 2) running between, and the Calz. de Tlalpan throughway on the two sides outside it.
Both of these images were painted by RemixUno. Her style can be recognized by the random inclusion of stylized patterns in both paintings, which feature beautiful women in traditional Mexican outfits. Of course, traditional applies to the blouse, the hair, and the flowers in it. The nose piercing of the first lady is a gentle reminder of our modern times.
The second mural looks like something highly typical for September. No, this chica is by no means a tourist, sporting the a dress and hair ribbons in national colors. This is actually a frequently adopted look by Mexican women for Independence Day. The eagle with the snake in the background just further amplifies the patriotic theme.
Seeing how I am already late for participating in CCC's Street Art Contest #56, I would like to wait for the 57th edition, and make this the first submission. If you have any cool street art pictures, take a look at this contest and join us.
