POB Word of the Week : Equanimity #007

The great silence of 2021 is finally over!

I hope the social experiment didn't depress you all too much. Commenting and engagement are back to normal this week and you can comment on any previous posts without the worry of being disqualified.

Take note of the information towards the end of the post. There are changes to the prizes and how you'll be rewarded for your efforts.

Time for the winners...

First Place: @bluemoon (500 POB)

I Would Even Say Bizarre

Second Place: @bobthebuilder2 (400 POB)

Bazaar or Bizarre?

Third Place: @scholaris (300 POB)

Fourth Place: @oldsoulnewb (200 POB)

Fifth Place: @espandorr (100 POB)

I have not added any feedback this week because I would like to ask the question;

Would you like constructive feedback under the winners posts?

I've delegated 250 POB to these members till the end of June 2021 for continued engagement in the contest and on POB in general.

@charcoalbuffet

@hranhuk

@clicmaster

@edystringz (increased to 500 POB for exceptional engagement)

Merit System Results

You'll notice a handful of people scored 19-18 points which led to my own selective choosing of who the 3rd - 5th place winners were. I want to avoid this as much as possible in the future.

Balance Adjustment

  • Grammar increased to 5 points

  • Formatting increased to 4 points

  • Short Form deductions changed to Post Length (still requires data)

  • Perspective increased to 3 points

  • Personality increased to 4 points

  • Affinity increased to 4 points

This is still a work in progress. Thanks for being patient and providing feedback.

We have a new word each week that members of the community can share their thoughts about in a post.

Any form of content is encouraged, whether short or long-form writing, poetic, artistic, music or voice, or any other method you can develop.

The guidelines for entry to the contest are as follows;

  1. The post must be made on the proofofbrain.io front-end
  2. The post must have the pob-wotw tag added to it
  3. Engagement is back, it is not a requirement to win this week.
  4. Entries must be posted before 00:00 UTC on 30/05/21
  5. Posts must clearly demonstrate what the weekly word is
  6. Posts shared for the following week will be disqualified if published before winners are called for the current week

There have been changes to the prize pool after great discussion and feedback this week in my Lions Prey post.

Instead of liquid POB rewards, I will be handing out delegations to the winners. The plan is to implement the delegations, see how people utilise the increase in POB power, and then depending on their actions over time, the delegation will be converted into a solid stake (thank you @curatorcat.leo for the excellent suggestion).

I'm still unsure how to go about this fairly without guiding how people use their votes. My main goal is to increase distribution and help build a stronger "middle class" on the platform so I am not too concerned about making some people unhappy.

There are plenty of avenues already available for people to dump onto the market instead of staking up and I don't want to contribute further to that. I hope people can see my point of view.

I am now looking out for accounts to join a small team that will help with the management of the merit system. I'll be continuing to do it myself until I find the right people for the job.

Good luck to all with this week's word. I'll definitely see you in the comments this week!
