excerpt from the previous episode
I told Abin about the vision and he pondered on it for a long while.
"You have a deep connection to the eye, Thorak, It seems there is presence of other Orbs, did it show you where they are..." Abin asked enthusiastically.
I tried to recollect further but I only felt a dull pain on my forehead.
"Don't worry child, the visions will come to you, this is my daughter Misa, she will take you to your resting quarters"
Shortly afterward, we slowly approached an unfamiliar room, I knew because it didn't have a dark gloomy aura like the room I was formerly held in detention. The area was more open and I saw more reptilian beings walking about and peering down at me.
I was still distracted by the unfamiliar scenes around me when I felt a slight tug at my feet, I looked back and saw some quite smaller reptoid figures scurrying away while making giggling sounds, it was the first time I had observed their younglings, They looked very much closer to my height and had much shorter tails.
I momentarily heard Misa make some hissing noises followed by some yelling as if driving the pranksters away, for a brief moment I caught sight of her stern gaze which softened immediately she looked back at me.
"This is your resting quarters, Thorak" Misa spoke gently as she pointed towards the cozy-looking room.
I took slow steps toward this stone room which looked much better than where I was previously held, I could observe the soft fur bedding and fragrance herbs that decorated the window space.
I peeked through the window and saw the vast and empty horizon lit by the dual moons, previously I would have attempted to escape through this window but not after the mysterious experiences I've now encountered, my curious nature has taken the better hold of me, I have to find out more about the source of those vision I had earlier, my connection to the Orb or as they call it "THE EYE" grew stronger as the time passed.
As I laid down on the bedding, I am suddenly reminded of my brother, I wondered what must be going on in his mind, I hoped in some way I could reach out to him and tell him I am alive and unhurt, for the first time I actually felt safe within this caves which is in contrast to my previous defiant state, I pondered if this sudden feeling is original or is it the Orb clouding my thoughts.
I woke up the following morning feeling a bit more refreshed and I realized that I could recollect more details from the visions the Orb gave to me, as I got up on my feet, I heard shuffling feet noises outside the room.
"It's got to be those pesky kids again" I thought to myself.
"Who is there... come out don't be shy" I said teasingly.
To my amazement, It was Misa that opened the door and stepped in with some fruits in a bowl, I recognized that those are the same delicious fruits they gave me where I was previously held in detention, my eyes brightened with expectancy as I also observed some other assorted fruits in the mix.
"You must be hungry... these are for you" Misa said with a warm smile as she placed the bowl on the wooden table.
"Oh thank you m'am.. eh... miss"
"You can just call me Misa" She replied with a chuckle.
"Master Abin and the chief-scout would pay you a visit soon... you need to eat and gain some strength"
I started gobbling down the refreshing dish soon as Misa walked out of the room, shortly afterward, some group of men approached my dwelling, I saw Abin standing with some other familiar reptile I spotted during my first encounter with this race of beings.
"Hello Thorak, I trust you have had some rest and food for your strength, This is Zodak, our chief scout and explorer"
Zodak suddenly cupped his fist close to his chest with a slight bow, I replied with a similar gesture even though we do not use this gesture in my homeland.
"You would be escorting Zodak on an expenditure to explore some areas within the caves, due to your recent vision and connection with the eye, we would require some fresh eyes and ears"
Abin took a couple of steps toward me and placed his hands on my shoulders.
"We need you child, what we are doing here is very important to our people, I mean our people" Abin made that same gesture again with his claws to signify that he was including me in the sentence.
I shifted my shoulders away from the weight of his arms, there was something else weighing on my mind at the moment.
"I will help you on one condition, I need to get some word out to my brother, I need him to know that I am safe"
Abin sighed with a deep breath before looking over to his lieutenants and chief-scout.
"We spotted some party of Topats roaming about the southern border of the caves, maybe they are the brethren you speak of" One of the lieutenants voiced out from amongst them.
"Did you see my brother in their midst... He has short hair, much shorter than mine he's also taller than I am" I said enthusiastically.
