Two years ago I had this idea to help people on the streets with the crypto I earned on steemit. I wanted to use the liquid payout of a post and distribute it to people who seemed to need it
Of course a lot has happened since then, and we have Hive now (yay!). But the idea, I think, is still worth exploring. Back then it was pretty hard to get projects noticed on steem, so the success was not very long lasting. However, with hive I have a feeling that more people could get interested in this idea. And I am imagining this to be a project in which everyone - no matter where you live on the world - could contribute!
We could use the streetheart community to gather and focus on this goal (if this post gets enough feedback I will create it :) . What do you think? You could become someone in your town or city who distributes crypto money to people like street artists or homeless people/organizations who need it!
If this sounds like a good idea, then how do we do it?
The idea is to make a post in the Streetheart community and raise Hive.
Use the liquid payout of your post and convert the value into fiat currency of your choice (at the time of payout). The HP from the payout stays with you.
- In case you receive funds from the newly added tipping function on peakd.com, you can use these funds just in the same way.
Then go out into the community and distribute it. This is of course the challenging part: who do you give it to? How much do you give to one person? Do you split up the funds? I think this is something that everyone should experiment with. Share your experience with the community so we can learn from it!
Make Pictures of this process and post them along with your next Streetheart post. In this way you show how you spent the funds and the post also acts as the next fund raiser! For example, you could take a picture of the fiat money you converted and some pictures of the people you decided to give it to. Here are some examples of the last time I did this:
