Most of them are established names, but a few are new to me. If you have a few minutes, you can listen ...

Pussy Riot - LAUGH IT OFF

Russian female punk band Pussy Riot has released a new song called Laugh It Off. This is after Punish (which I've already mentioned in this blog some time ago). The band is declared a spy and an enemy of the Russian government by the end of 2021.
No wonder, lately the Russian government is actually surrounded by spies and traitors who oppose the current 'special operation' that has caused two million refugees...

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - The Dripping Tap

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have announced the release of a new album. It's called Omnium Gatherum and is introduced with the song Dripping Tap. It's a bit longer song, but as a fan, I recommend it to anyone who doesn't know the band yet, in 18 minutes you will hear a complex blend of their unique style.

Placebo - Happy Birthday In The Sky

The group dedicated the song to people who are no longer with us. We all know the feeling of loss and despair when a part of our soul and our body is unjustly taken away from us. With the new album we want to share something humane, they say.
Production as befits a great band. The song is also catchy enough to get into your ears quickly. They have canceled a tour in Russia.

The Drin - Sense Of Occasion

It's rare these days to hear a post-punk band that stays in my ears at least for a while. The Drin is a band from Cincinnati, Ohio, and in one year they have gone from a cult attraction (that had only one recorded cassette and was being passed around) to a debut album on vinyl, also available on CD or mp3 on Bandcamp. It's a dark, nihilistic sound like it was recorded in a shelter and brought from the 1980s to 2022 on the brink of World War III. Recommended.

The Black Keys - Wild Child

Believe it or not, it seems to me, as far as I follow The Black Keys, that they haven't written a bad song yet, or something I can't praise. I'm sure Wild Child will be a big hit in a week or so. They are still going on with their classic boogie and that is good for me.

Rot TV - Ready to Die

Another Australian band I'm hearing about for the first time. They were formed just before the Covid pandemic, so they're certainly up to speed and ready to tour. A classic fast rock'n'roll track, with the guitars in the right place and a surprisingly fresh female vocal. If they keep it up, it will definitely be a success, because lately, you hear this kind of rock'n'roll sound more rarely.

Rammstein - Zeit

A very fresh product from Rammstein, as usual, subtle topical, universal, and apocalyptic messages aimed at a global market. Published one day ago and already has 2.5 million views...

Tame Impala – Let It Happen (Okeechobee 2022)

Finally, I've chosen a recently released live recording of Australian psychedelics Tame Impala from the Okeechobee 2022 festival in Florida. They perform Let It Happen and it all sounds very good and visually appealing. They're coming to Pula, Croatia, in August, which is near me, so if all goes well I'm going to see them.
