What will humans do in an automated world?

Lately I have been looking at AI blockchains, the first in this series Selections & References and the second A closer look at Top AI coins. I also like to ask artificial intelligence questions when tools are available to do so, so that I can gain insights into big ideas. I asked TextSynth this;

Q: When the singularity occurs what will humans do for work and happiness?

"The Singularity is the idea of a time when human intelligence has reached a point where the gap between human beings and the machines they have created for themselves no longer exists, and the gap becomes a speed bump for development of new technologies. There is no doubt that this gap will ultimately close, and when it does it will lead to a very very different world than what we know today, as a way of thinking about that gap, I like to use a metaphor. One way of thinking about the singularity is as a big asteroid which is hurtling towards earth at unimaginable speed. The human race has survived every one of these asteroid hits for the last few million years. The asteroid hit us in the dinosaurs, the Cretaceous asteroid which killed off 65% of the species on earth, but we just went on, and eventually we figured out how to live with the asteroid and we learned to survive and live in the same world as the asteroids. Then, in the 20th century, the asteroid came and hit us, with nuclear weapons."

I continued to probe this question with the previous results included but it went on about the history of the nuclear weapons. The text I bolded stands out to me as the main point.

"There is no doubt that this gap will ultimately close, and when it does it will lead to a very very different world than what we know today, as a way of thinking about that gap, I like to use a metaphor."

As well as that we learn how to live with the asteroids. We will learn to live with AI.
Just as we learn to work with others, we can learn to work with intelligences.

The idea that there could be a computer or a machine that is smarter than us can bruise our ego.

However just as Elon Musk points out, we are already feeding these intellgience systems with our data inputs. Google and all its participants are using artificial intelligence to gather results. Facebook too is an artificial intelligence simulation. Everything Morpheus said is true in 2021.

The world we think we are living in is over. Many people are living their entire days and nights living in the simulation. The digital self it seems is more real to many than their physical self.

"When humans begin to value their digital self image more than their physical self, things go south. In fact, when that happens, the physical body becomes irrelevant, and you enter an alternate universe where only virtual reality matters. Now, there’s nothing inherently wrong with virtual reality. The problem lies in how its design, marketing, and the technology it uses are marketed.

This is why it’s important to understand the issues at stake when it comes to virtual reality, and how to avoid making a bad decision when choosing between this growing technology and other more mundane, yet far more important experiences in life."

What will you do when AI replaces your job?

Will you relax and enjoy life, doing all the things you would do if you didn't have to work?
