Q12 — Loosely Coupled Rewards Pool Or Strongly Coupled Rewards Pool?

When I was young, there was a great division among my friends (and also those others) between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones fans. Never understood it. Liked both for the different moods…and different girls :)

Here I have to draw a parallel: I refuse to chose one or the other. There’s no reason why both cannot be implemented, and then we will see what will the competition bring. We are used to think that in case of a healthy competition, consequences can only be good. Here I have to return to my usual doubts…

Our host, @dragosroua, left a nice definitions of the terms regarding loosely and strongly coupled reward pools, but stopped short of defining social networks. Instead, he used the term “traditional social networks”, which implies well established and CENTRALIZED ones. What would be opposed to “traditional social networks”? A non-traditional? It is too vague to consider. I would suggest that we start talking in clear terms: centralized and decentralized social networks. Now, here is a suggestion how I feel about the centralized ones:

In case of DECENTRALIZED social networks, I support every rewarding layer possible, strong or loosely coupled. In case of the CENTRALIZED networks, I don’t condone any support or promotion. Facebook will soon launch its GlobalCoin — and it will probably be a strongly coupled centralized fraud. I would like to see more education on the danger of centralized networks and IT monopolists, and less support for them. Please watch “The Creepy Line” movie.
