Hello, Everyone!

Here's the updated Glossary of all the people and creatures we've encountered so far in Mary Windfiddle's story. This time - with the Bulgarian translation after each name (for those three fellow Bulgarians who I know are reading the story)!

Mary Windfiddle (Мери Уиндфидъл)
(introduction chapter)

A human warlock from Frinkeltong. Likes to read and learn things. Not very good in social situations. Capable of more than she thinks.


Bruno Airhammer (Бруно Еърхамър)
(introduction chapter)

A dwarven cleric from Belfast. Very serious and responsible. Likes to make toys and interesting mechanical things. Sometimes forgets the name of his deity.


Sir Aurum (сър Аурум)
(introduction chapter)


Not actually knighted. A human bard from Pamagos. Grew up in a circus. Likes to drink smoke. Enjoys the intimate company of all genders and species. Nearly dies a lot, but is otherwise very lucky.

Paulina Airhammer (Паулина Еърхамър)

Bruno's sister. Super cool. A druid. Likes to be unique. Supplies Aurum with weed. Mary likes her a lot. After the events of the first Arc, she found some friends (Asya, Toto and Vivian) and went on adventuring on their own.

Konstanz Airhammer (Констанц Еърхамър)

Bruno's mom. Very strict, head of the family. Disapproves of Paulina's carefree lifestyle.

Saami Airhammer (Саами Еърхамър)
(introduction chapter)

Bruno and Paulina's brother. Disappeared in the tunnels beneath Belfast, along with a group of dwarven loggers. Known to be a tunnel safety specialist.

Papios Ferenc (Папиос Ференк)
(introduction chapter)

The richest and most influential dwarf in Belfast. Has a bank. Signed the Pamagos Agreement in 1197, along with the other rulers of Eastern Erathos.

Victor Goras and Belt Ormus (Виктор Горас, Белт Ормус)
(introduction chapter)

Dwarven loggers, captured by the duergar during the fight in the goblin cavern. After being imprisoned, they were being taken to 'the brains' (presumably to be offered as a sacrifice of some sort). Saved by Mary and her friends in their first fight with a Roper.

Fennec (Фенек)
(introduction chapter)

One of the dwarven loggers. After being captured by the Duergar, he was sent to Nurvureem's cavern to be her 'plaything'. He was tortured by the dragon but Mary and her friends managed to get him out. He lives in Belfast now.

Timok and Hegralda (Тимок, Хегралда)
(introduction chapter)

A pair of dwarven loggers. Saved by Mary and her company in the Underdark, after being captured and taken to Menzoberranzan as a gift for its ruler.

Georgo (Джорджо)

Another of Bruno’s siblings. A smithby trade. Paulina likes him.

Leopold (Леополд)

The orc owner of ‘Leopold’s Antique Shop’ in Belfast. Has a peculiar way of pricing his items.

Asya (Ася)
(introduction chapter)

Paulina’s friend and later teammate. Single mother, human. Doesn’t drink alcohol and likes to experiment with hairstyles. Has a daughter named Alexa who lives with her grandmother in Belfast.

Lilly Windfiddle (Лили Уиндфидъл)

Mary’s adoptive and Leefie’s biological mother. Wife of Bramble Windfiddle. Very caring, loves to dance. Used to be a travelling performer in Professor Rascal’s troupe.

Bramble Windfiddle (Брамбъл Уиндфидъл)

Mary’s adoptive and Leefie’s biological father. Husband to Lilly Windfiddle. A famous performer who was often touring and having concerts during Mary’s childhood.

Mary’s (half-)brother. The sweetest little boy in the world!

Mona Windfiddle (Мона УИндфидъл)

A.k.a. ‘Grandma Mona’. Bramble’s mother and Mary’s grandmother. Works in the Frinkeltong office of ‘Bank Ferenc’.

Master Ford (господин Форд)
(first mentioned here)

A toymaker and engineer, Bruno’s Frinkeltong employer. Designed the first tram in the city.

Mr. Pruste (господин Пруст)
(first mentioned here)

The librarian in Frinkeltong’s library. Mary spent half her adolescence in his reading room.

Bartemius Finesse (Бартемиус Финес)
(first mentioned here)

The gnome president of Frinkeltong. Signed the Pamagos Agreement in 1197, along with the other rulers of Eastern Erathos.

Professor Rascal (Професор Раскал)

The owner of the troupe Lilly and Bramble Windfiddle performed in before they had Mary. Calls Mary ‘medlar’.

Lord Alexander Dwendel (Лорд Александър Дуендел)

A merchant from Pamagos. Hired Mary, Bruno and Aurum as escort for him and his family from Pamagos to Myth Adofhaer where he intended to settle in.

William Dwendel (Уилиам Дуендел)

Lord Dwendel's 6 year-old son. Can't be sneaky to save his life. Wanted to marry Mary at some point.

Dorina Dwendel (Дорина Дуендел)
(first mentioned here)

Lord Dwendel's missing daughter. Last seen six years ago in Pamagos. Known to be kind and merciful. Had merits with the elves and because of them her family was allowed in Myth Adofhaer.

! As of ‘Aftermath – part 4’ she’s with her family again, after Mary and her friends saved her from being controlled by Kloth.

Jared Flay (Джаред Флей)

Another adventurer hired by lord Dwendel to escort him from Pamagos to Myth Adofhaer. Brash and self-centered, likes to brag about his successes (or successes that he thinks are his).

! In ‘A Writer’s Dismay – part 5‘ we learned that he stole Mary’s manuscript and published it under the pseudonym ‘Flamingo’.

Ignas II (Император Игнас II)

The last Emperor of Erathos. Died 48 years ago in dubious circumstances. Due to the details around his death never having been revealed, in certain circles he's thought to have been murdured by his wife Cremena.

Dynatos Perres (Динатос Перес)

The human ruler of Pamagos. Signed the Pamagos Agreement in 1197, along with the other rulers of Eastern Erathos. Likes to talk to people. Has a cat named Miyuki. Was Dorina Dwendel’s employer before she disappeared and is currently employing Elaria in her place.

Elaria (Елария)

Dorina Dwendel’s successor as a bodyguard and assassin-finder for Dynatos Perres. Half-elf. Has a cute pseudodragon.

Dynatos Perres’ young wife. Born in Zerakas tol.

‘Flamingo’ (Фламинго)

The pseudonym of the person who published Mary’s adventures in Pamagos. >! Later revealed to have been the group’s previous companion Jared Flay.

Nymphadora Flay (Нимфадора Флей)

Jared Flay’s sister and accomplice in publishing ‘Mary Windfiddle’s Grand Adventure’. Mary feels guilty for ruining her life by taking back the earnings from the book.

Toto and Vivian (Тото и Вивиан)

Paulina’s friends and teammates. Mary doesn’t like them, Aurum had a ‘thing’ with Toto.

Leon (Лъвчо)

The owner of ‘The Maimed Lion’, the inn our heroes and Paulina’s group like to spend their time in Pamagos.

Sherry (Шери)

The halfling receptionist of ‘Steel Brothers Printing House’. Very nervous. Has a complicated relationship with the store room of the Printing House.

Rickard Steel (Рикард Стийл)

The owner of ‘Steel Brothers Printing House’ in Pamagos. Is always busy but otherwise very helpful.

Rafael di Pitoya (Рафаел ди Питоя)

And artist and book critic from ‘The Gallery’ in Pamagos. Coined the term ‘Mary Sue’ after reading ‘Mary Windfiddle’s Grand Adventure’.

Lilly and Vlad (Лили и Влад)

The owners of ‘The Salty Bitch’, a tavern in Pamagos.

Gruumsh (Груумш)

A frequent visitor in ‘The Salty Bitch’. Orc. Likes playing cards.

Driko (Дрико)

A gnome tattoo artist. Spends a lot of time in ‘The Salty Bitch’. Likes art and curses a lot.

Captain Roche (Капитан Рош)

The Captain of Pamagos’ guard. Hired Mary, Bruno and Aurum as Agents of Pamagos and let them investigate the undead attacks around Erathos.

Kalien (Келиан)

A half-dragon man, servant of Nurvureem.

Dalia Reed (Далия Рийд)

!Mary’s biological mother. Used to live in Pamagos but travelled to Myth Adofhaer, where she met Halas and they fell in love.
!Was turned undead after being kidnapped by Correlon Entivio, 18 years before the current events.

Christoff Pyron (Кристоф Пайрон)

An adventurer bard, Mary’s favourite poet. Was close friends with Creen and Augustina Bright and disappeared in their shipwreck near Ekoba. Was rumored to have something to do with Maheshvara’s bells.

The parents of Edmund Bright, died in a shipwreck near Ekoba six years ago. Creen was Emperor Ignas II’s son but everybody who knew him says that he didn’t have his father’s ‘spirit’.

One of the three elven Elders, head of the Council of Hundred. Signed the Pamagos Agreement in 1197, along with the other rulers of Eastern Erathos. <Very buff, known to leading the elves in battle. Wears glasses. Was Falka’s friend and Halas’ teacher back in the day. Knows Gillean and owns the Fen’thras bow.>

Tiriel Elaire (Тириел Елер)

One of the three elven Elders, head of the Council of Hundred. She doesn’t like outsiders, Francesca Findabair and Belfast. Is mistrustful to anyone who wants to ‘steal’ information from the elven Archives.

Kirios Ibre (Кириос Ибре)
(introduction chapter)

One of the three elven Elders, head of the Council of Hundred. Head of commerce and almost as antagonistic as Tiriel Elaire.

Tesaya (Тесая)
(introduction chapter)

A nice elf, for a change. Was given the task of ‘babysitting’ our heroes and getting them from one place to the next in Myth Adofhaer. Very calm, very patient. Is a Paladin of the Ancients but for some reason hasn’t advanced in her craft for the last 42 years.

Sylvanas Bliss (Силванас Блис)
(first mentioned here)

An elf scientist (dead). Used to do experiments with plants, tried to give them consciousness in order for them to be able to protect themselves. Presumably killed by one of his own test subjects- a living tree.

Cremena Bright (Кремена Брайт)
(first mentioned here)

The half-elven wife of Ignas II. Some people think she's killed her husband 48 years ago. Lives in Myth Adofhaer and is under its protection. The elves are aiming to put her on her late husband's throne.

Moira and Dalia (Мойра и Далия)

An elven woman and her little girl. Got betrayed by Moira’s brother-in-law Clement and were abducted by the Duergar who were going to take them to Menzoberranzan as a gift for its ruler.

! In Some Things to Talk About – part 4 we find out that she was a friend of Mary’s mother Dalia and named her daughter after her.

Clement (Клемент)

Moira’s brother-in-law. Works with the Duergar. Betrayed his family when his life was at stake. When he got back to Myth Adofhaer, he pretended to be very distraught by their disappearance to avoid more questioning.

Maquiel Prouvier (Макиел Прувие)

The elven man who confessed to the undead attacks and kidnappings six years ago, but had recently started rambling that he was innocent and wasn’t himself back then.

! Turned out to have been controlled by Kloth and his whole capture had been staged.

Noanar (Ноанар)

An elf guard who was tasked with taking care of Mary, Aurum and Bruno before they were given to Tesaya. A strict but not too snooty person.

Tamish Pranas (Тамиш Пранас)

A snooty person. Elf. Works at Myth Adofhaer’s administration. Is not an address book.

Lyria Thei (Лирия Тей)

An elf guard. She was used by Dorina Dwendel as bait six years ago, in order to catch Maquiel Prouvier

The husband of Olivia Enry. Mourns her death even to this day.

!Turned out to be behind all the cyclic Undead activity and the kidnapping of elven maidens. Did it all to try and bring back his late wife’s soul and preserve her body.

A dark entity known to have been behind all the cyclic Undead activity and the kidnapping of elven maidens. Tried to make a deal with Mary and her friends but had to fight them instead.

!Turned out to have been Correlon Entivio the whole time.

Algo Ders (Алго Дерс)

An elven artist, hired to make our heroes’ statue after they finished their feat for the elves. Known to have made the special map for Dorina Dwendel which is now at the possession of our heroes.

A Dragonborn from the Zerakastolian forces, companion to Lady Kaire. Very rude. Hates elves.

Lady Kaire (Лейди Кайре)

A Divination wizard from Zerakas tol. Sent to Meraket to deal with the drought there. Accompanied by Sir Genos. A nice lady, spreads propaganda.

Francescа Findabair (Франческа Финдебар)
(first mentioned here)

A female wizard, human. Founded Zerakas tol 700 years ago and is still its ruler to this day. Signed the Pamagos Agreement in 1197 along with the other rulers of Eastern Erathos. Known to have died in battle multiple times.

Edmund Bright (Едмънд Брайт)

Ignas II's grandson, 14 years old. Lives in Zerakas tol and is under its protection. People who know him say he's just like his grandfather. Zerakas tol is aiming to put him on Ignas' throne to unite the Empire once again.

Reina Lavore (Рейна Лавор)

Aurum’s conquest in Zerakas tol. For some reason, Mary doesn’t really like her.

An Archfey. Likes oranges. Provides Mary with her magic powers and gives her tasks. Likes tea and joking around.

Granny Gretel (Баба Гретел)

A creepy old lady with freakishly long fingers. Owns ‘The Hut’. Shady as f*ck. Likes our heroes, calls them her ‘grandchildren’. Finds stuff for them and lets them shop in ‘The Hut’ at a discount in exchange for

! them letting her know what they do at any given moment. In ‘The Heroes of Belfast – part 5’ she gave them a special card-reading.

Rupert Ginash (Рупърт Гинаш)

A halfling bartender from Meraket, very opportunistic and rude. Owner of 'The Stern Mistress', later renamed 'The Entrance to the Underground'.

Captain Reese (Капитан Рийс)
(introduction chapter)

The exasperated Captain of Meraket's guard. Has a squabble with Rupert. Really doesn't like that halfling.

Halas an Terros (Халас ан Терос)
(first mentioned here)

! Mary’s biological father. Fell in a deep gorge while running from the dark-cloaked elves from Myth Adofhaer. His last wish was for the Archfey Gillean to take his daughter and save her.

Barhados and Ugarhos (Барадос, Угарос)
(introduction chapter)

Duergar brothers (a.k.a. dark dwarves). Ugarhos got killed by Agrax. Mary and her companions met Barhados in their first mission together and spared his life.

Agrax (Агракс)

A giant made of stone. Leads the Duergar. Has sent an ultimatum to Belfast to either give his people access to their mines, or be destroyed by his army.

Kiyra (Кийра)
(introduction chapter)

A goblin girl who almost got eaten in the tunnels beneath Belfast. Mary and her friends saved her and proved that humans don't eat goblins.

Viyra (Вийра)
(introduction chapter)

Kiyra's grandmother, a goblin lady. Knows everything (according to Kiyra). Has a pretty good bargaining sense.

The Dark Lady / Nurvureem (Нурвурийм)
(introduction chapter)

A black dragon. Terrifying. Likes to torture her victims. Captured Mary when she messed up her retreat. Was very angry when our heroes saved Fennec from her claws.

Essos and Imagos (Есос и Имагос)
(introduction chapter)

A pair of Drow (a.k.a. dark elves) that were escorting some prisoners from Gracklstugh to Menzoberranzan. Fought our heroes in ‘The Prison Cart’ and died after the tunnel collapsed on their heads.

Indra (Индра)
(introduction chapter)

A Drow (Dark Elven) enchantress that Mary’s familiars saw making a deal with the Duergar back in ‘The Great Familiar Recconnaisance’. Known to have taken the soul of Moira’s husband and used it as a spell component.

Imenoth (Именот)
(first mentioned here)

The Matriarch of the dark elves and High Priestess of Lolth.

Roko (Роко)
(introduction chapter)

A Deep gnome that our heroes summoned in the tunnels of the Underdark. Led them back to Belfast via a small tunnel that he himself created.

The Dry Hand (Сухата ръка)
(introduction chapter)

A shady individual who took the Artefact from the stone giant Agrax and teleported somewhere. Known also as ‘the Bishop’ and ‘the one who’s mudding the water’.

Maheshvara (Махешвара)
(first mentioned here)

A Loxodon (elephant-headed person). A legendary figure, famous for leading the defence of Kipsos pass against demons in year 918. Had magical bells that looked the same as the one Aurum has.

! Maheshvara is actually a title, not a name. The previous Maheshvara was called Joakim Berros and he dies from old age around the year 960.

The Bearers (Вестителите)

The messenger guild in Eastern Erathos. Able to magically find the recipients for the messages sent through them. Patroned by the goddess of knowledge Ioun.

Volos (Волос)
(first mentioned here)

A Bearer who Mary knew in her childhood but whom she hasn’t seen in years.

Lara, Lanna
(Лара, Лана)
Aurum’s alter egos. He made them with the Alter Self spell and used them, respectively, as decoys, first against his parents and then against the kidnapper of elven girls.

Alfred and Sesillia di Castillo (Алфред и Сесилия ди Кастийо)

Aurum’s parents. Own a travelling circus.

Timi and Mimi (Тими и Мими)
(first mentioned here)

Twin acrobats, part of the di Castillo circus, used to make fun of Aurum when they were children.

Carrion Crawler

A worm-like creature, known to feed with decaying flesh. It was the first monster Mary and her friends encountered during their adventures!

Duergar (Дурегар)
(first encountered here)

Dark dwarves. Live in the Underdark. Grey skin, white hair and beard, thinner than light dwarves. Known to be cruel and nasty.

Ghouls
(first encountered here)

Undead creatures. Grey skin, not very intelligent. Known for their bite which infects people with ‘ghoul fever’ – an illness which soon kills its victims and turns them into ghouls as well.

Little Spike-Haired Pixie
(first encountered here)

Sent by Mary's Patron to 'guard' the sleeping Bruno while she and Aurum went on a solo mission. Always angry. Has a toothpick-sized sword and WILL stab you!

Gelatinous cube (желатинов куб)
(first encountered here)

A creature Mary and Aurum stumbled upon in Sylvanas’ laboratory. Dangerous. Can envelop and slowly dissolve you inside of itself.

Page (Листи)
(first encountered here)

Mary's Unseen Servant. Strictly speaking, he’s not alive but she loves him nonetheless.

Living Tree
(first encountered here)

An experimental creature from Sylvannas’ laboratory. Very aggressive. Probably killed its creator.

Myconids / Fungus Folk (Гъбковци)
(first encountered here)

Good day! The mushroom people who inhabit the cavern adjacent to Sylvanas’ laboratory. Were friends with the elf and mourn his death. One of them calls itself ‘Mr. Fungus’.

Bulette (Булет)
(first encountered here)

Also known as ‘a land shark’. A heavily armoured creature which burrows deep underground and eats anything that it comes in contact with. Not very intelligent but deadly.

Goblins
(first encountered here)

Small green skinned creatures. Can be good, can be bad. We know of two tribes living in the Upper Dark – The Ravens and The River Folk. Viyra and Kiyra are from the latter.

Messy and Bessy
(first encountered here)

Huge goats. Like to eat and sleep. Don’t really care about anything else.

Roper (Роупър)
(first encountered here)

A very dangerous creature, likes to eat flesh. When sleeping, can be mistaken with a column or stalactite/stalagmite. When awoken, forms an eye, a mouth full of sharp teeth and several tentacles with which it can move and catch its prey.

Atti, Aingels and Rudhol (Ати, Ейнджълс, Рудолф)

The Fearsome Threesome, characters from a fairytale Mary and Aurum knew from childhood. Also, Mary’s favourite origami familiars. Atti is an owl, Aingels is a tressym (a flying cat) and Rudhol is an almiraj (a bunny with a horn on its forehead).

Gibbering Мouther
(first encountered here)

Also known as ‘the Thing Under the Bridge’. Babbles incoherently when people are close by and, if it’s awakened, screams with a thousand voices and compels its victims to jump into his embrace.

Lizard People
(first encountered here)

Exactly what they sound like. They live in simple villages and like to worship and serve powerful creatures like Nurvureem.

Shadows
(first encountered here)

Creatures from the Negative Plane. Suck out life and vitality with every hit.

Drow
(first encountered here))

Dark Elves. They have greyish skin and white hair. Live in the Underdark and are sensitive to light. The members of the ‘Kyone Veldrin’ legion are trained to fight with blindfolds to compensate for that.

Deep gnomes
(first encountered here)

Greyskinned variation on the Light gnomes. Live in the Underdark and love, love, love jewels and precious stones. Can be summoned by knocking with one of those on a tunnel wall. The ground around them abides by their every need and they are able to walk through self-digging and self-closing tunnels through the Underdark.

Peter and Paulo (or Pow-lo)

Two of Mary’s origami familiars. Peter is a spider and Paulo (I mean Pow-lo!) is a rat (so what if Paulina has a rat form? It’s not like he’s named after her!).

Flaming Skull
(first encountered here)

An Undead creature. When an arsonist dies and is risen with necromancy, their soul is manifesting as a one. Nasty little thing, likes to throw fireballs around.

Skeletons and Zombies
(first encountered here)

Undead creatures of varying strength and endurance. Summoned by necromantic rituals. Usually have some of the items the person had when he died.

Miyuki (Миюки)

Dynatos Perres’ cat.

The Devoted (Отдадените)
(first mentioned here)

Francesca Findabair’s fearsome army. Rumored to have never been defeated in battle.

The Children of Terpesh
(first mentioned here)

An organization of cruel criminals living beyond the Teeth. They have tattoos of a black dragon on their bodies which are not only for decoration.

Dark-cloaked elves

A special division of the Elven forces. Known to have special sapphire brooches as badges. They were first encountered moving a caged wagon through the Red forest.

!Turns out the name of their division is ‘The Order of Falka’. How curious!

Unicorns

A whole blessinig of them lives in the forests of Myth Adofhaer! They are wondrous creatures who can only be approached my ‘untouched maidens’. Their life force is known to keep the Mythalar (the barrier holding the outer world away) up.

Ord, ‘The Creator’

Bruno’s deity! God of blacksmiths and crafters. Known to have given the world its form and forged the first dwarves. Values proactivity, valour and honest labor.

Ioun, ‘The Omniscient’
(first mentioned here)

Mary worships her! Goddess of knowledge and prophecy. She created language and writing so that information can be shared among the mortals. Known to have given pegasi to the first Bearers to allow them to deliver their messages around the world.

Tiamat
(first mentioned here)

Goddess of the chromatic dragons. Usually depicted as a five-headed dragon. Her symbol is a five-pointed star, each of the points in a different colour characteristic of the dragons in her care.
