The Robot

A low hum emanated from the figure sitting in front of him. He watched the delicate instruments rattling on the lab workbench, as the frequency grew higher and higher. The basement lights flickered and dipped, as Ben watched his shadow dancing like a puppet across the basement wall. -@strangegravy

The Great City was founded by the revolutionary Neo. It is the world’s capital of commerce. It is where all the nations join together to drive the boundaries of progress. Where science and technology reign. Engineering builds marvels beyond the imagination. Everything was ‘perfect’ till the skies darkened and rain of laser fire came down on the city. - @khoola

They Come Here

This stealth aircraft is very effective for reconnaissance and infiltration because it does not make any noticeable sound or movement. In a short time the commander immediately landed without being noticed by foreign troops. -@rokhani

Rowan Miracle

The harsh whispering voices sounded very familiar to Rowan. She tried to moan, to hear her own voice at least, but couldn't. Oh, yes. She remembered. That was Mr Ian Palmer, her neighbour and very good friend. And why was Daddy speaking to him in that impolite tone? -@kemmyb

Humanity's Paradox

The mountains loomed ominously over the plains beneath it. They were shrouded in a tangled maze of deformed trees, each ruthlessly reaching for the limited light which filtered through the deep cloud cover above. Large brown flying creatures busied themselves in the canopy, concerned to hunt for lesser prey before the weather turned, and the ice took them into death. The earth further below was not hospitable. -@lordtimoty

The Mind Seekers

One of these heralds of the end of time was the deranged man who stood every Sunday outside the church with his apocalyptic demonstrations. He was always there with his misspelled posters fogging the car windows with his intense harangues, yet as he left the church that morning, as a stiff breeze swayed the cypress tree in the parking lot, no one perhaps except Sam noticed he was gone, a shiver ran down his spine as the wind swirled autumn leaves in the middle of the pavement. -@joalheal

Shhh, Quiet!

Even though it was dim, the light that came in through the slit of the broken window hit a photo hanging on the wall. It is a family photo of the apartment owner: A young man wearing a suit, posing with his wife and child, a little girl wearing a pink fedora. The photo had been taken at last year's summer holiday parade—all of which was clearly visible against the backdrop of the banner where they were standing. -@mosin-nagant
