"Sugar - sugar - sugar, ugh the sweet nectar of happiness." she chanted.
Anya's knees buckled as she remembered the heady scent of lightly burnt caramel.
Gulping, she whispered. "Fine, it's my birthday tomorrow and I haven't had sugar ever since the government banned sugar ten years back. I heard our colleague talking about this little bakery that operates in the dark and gets sugar smuggled from Dentistan."
"I've been meaning to ask, where is Dentistan and why do they have sugar?"

Street busker story
"Nina, open the door!" said Budi, knocking on the door.
Not long after, the door was opened by Nina, Budi's wife. Seeing her husband was drenched in the rain, Nina immediately took a towel and made warm tea for her husband.
"If it rains, you should take shelter first," said Nina.
"I'm afraid you'll be worried Nina," said Budi.
"So, how much money did you earn today?" asked Nina.
While removing the money in the red plastic bag, Budi gave all the money to his wife.
"It's only like this," said Budi, handing Nina the money. @radenkusumo666
Patrick was disastrous at gold management, he couldn’t cobble to save his life no matter how many lessons his father gave him. He was useless at joke telling, did not enjoy a pint of beer at all and he made friends with humans; of course befriending humans was his worst flaw, she knew that by doing so he was constantly betraying them to danger. - @itsostylish

The Council wouldn't condemn him - it was the Council that approved his promotion. The King wouldn't condemn him - Becker was carrying out his peace. So what held him back? He didn't know. It had all started over house colours. Derek has been painting his house a trendy new grey, when the well-to-do woman approached him in a flap – she had just paid a consultant hundreds of dollars to advise her to wrap her house in the exact same colour: [offer a colour name which evokes a sense of awe or jealousy]. She advised him to put down the roller, but of course, he’d already purchased the paint and undercoated most of his home. Ms Velma Vanstone’s cold heart needed no further reason to harden, but now it was stained in a subtle grey hue, with dark trimmings for the roof, and a crisp white door [does it work to mix metaphors – is her heart a stone, or the picture of the house she wanted?] -@lordtimoty
