he fairies did not speak the language of the humans but the old woman could talk to them through incantation in the ancient language of written signs. She did not know why humans stopped writing words but she knew words had power, especially written words. It was her discovery of the written word that her juju grew strong. It is the only time she had ever seen the earth angry and rising up in fury. They had to sign an agreement in blood that the power is never to be used for evil. Moments felt like hours and finally I saw them picking off the bodies of my fallen brethren. I thought it was finally my chance to escape, but then a glimmer in the corner of my eye caught my attention.
On the chest of one of the invaders who held the strange tool that reaped many lives of my clan, a gleaming star was shining. The firelight reflected off the surface of the beautiful object on his breast that shone silver and white.

I look at the lighter going on and off in my hand. What if he's right? Maybe it does only work in my hand. Maybe the fire isn't even coming from the lighter. Do I have a superpower? Acquired after some accident with fire or something? The train of thought takes me back to an old memory.
I was a child helping my father on the farm and I miraculously survived a horrifying fire without any significant physical damage. Maybe I should tell them that story when my turn comes. - @hazem91
DANGEROUS CHOICES
As Franklin picked up the bottle of drink and attempted to open it, he observed something suspicious on the bottle, because he worked in a bottling factory, he saw that the bottle cap was tampered with and not sealed properly.
Franklin took another look at James but this time with a very suspicious gaze as he suddenly dropped the bottle.
"Is there a problem?" James asked with haste.
"No... No problem, I just remembered I forgot something very important and It's getting late but I'm very interested in your services, I would come back here as soon as I'm done"
"Oh... but you just got here and you've not even had your drink" James rebutted with panicky eyes that darted frantically across the room. - @abmakko

She looked at Jake and saw the sadness in his eyes, He knew what was going to happen to them. It felt like a dream, they had never for once thought that their love would lead them to this point.
She'd been tempted to lie to her father the king and denounce the love she had for Jake, maybe only then would he let him live. But she just couldn't, there was no way she would live without him. She was ready to face it all, even if they had to be the Romeo and Juliet of the present generation.- @chincoculbert
