I am in love with the look of this donut. That purple icing with the white cobweb and a fondant spider in the middle. At first glance I actually thought this was an eyeball, then as I paid attention to the donut, I realised it was a spider sat in the middle of its web. This donut was jam packed full of strawberry filling. It was the same filling you get in a Strawberries and Kreme - minus the kreme. It was red in colour and had that great sweet strawberry taste. I would have preferred a mixed berry flavour like the one they had in their Sis the Slime Monster back in 2019. I thought at the time I wouldn't like it at all, so I left it to the last minute to get one. How silly of me!! It was probably one of the tastiest fruity fillings Krispy Kreme had ever done and I only had the one! I was gutted. Every year I hope for them to bring the flavour back, but every year I am disappointed. However, that aside. This donut was so good and I'm glad it only had strawberry and no kreme in it. Yum!
A lovely strawberry filled donut. I think Krispy Kreme could have made more of an effort with the spider if it really wanted to make an impact rather than a flat fondant decoration. Don't get me wrong, it still looks spidery, but I think they could have been a bit more creative like have chocolate buttons or sugar coated chocolate to represent the body. Or even a strawberry / fruit flavoured jelly spider! That would definitely feel like you were eating a spider! Gross!!
