Donut Fans!
Finally!! Krispy Kreme heard us and have brought out a new fruit flavoured donut. We all know and love the retro Black Forest gateau so I was really looking forward to have these classic flavours rolled into a donut. Here's what I thought.

On first inspection this donut looked special. It had a really classy design of the red cherry fudge pieces and white chocolate curls that are sat on a chocolate covered donut, drizzled delicately with chocolate icing. The combination of colours of the red, white and brown make this donut look very tasty indeed. When I picked up my donut it felt quite light. It didn't look or feel like it had much filling at all. I had to eat two thirds of the donut before I got to any filling. The donut texture did feel a little bit dry and not the same as what I was used to. I eventually for to the chocolate cherry filling. It was rather smooth and mousse like. However, the taste wasn't all that. It was a little bit chocolatey and a little bit cherry. The cherry wasn't that nice in flavour. Krispy Kreme have made a cherry one before I believe a couple of years ago and that tasted so chemically, it was disgusting! This one wasn't that bad, but it wasn't giving me that cherry taste I was expecting. I think if Krispy Kreme took some inspiration from some of the delicious cherry jams that are out there and paired it with their scrumptious chocolate filling, then that would be a winner. I'm not even sure this donut would make it into third place.
A donut that looks nice and tastes meh! Disappointed with this one. Considering I waited to get the Decadent Desserts box, there wasn't anything decadent about this donut at all. I won't be getting another Black Forest donut. Which is a shame because I know Krispy Kreme could do so much better.
Take this cherry? I'd rather not.
