Donut Fans,
I saw yesterday that Krispy Kreme got rid of its Valentine's donuts and added a couple of new ones. I'm gutted though, because there were two donuts I didn't get to have. This being the first one. I did however, have one last year so I knew what to expect. So here is a re-cap of what I remember. I just wish I got to have one as it was one of my favourites!

Krispy Kreme - Simply the Zest
"Citrus lemon and sherbet flavour kreme filling, dipped in lemon icing and topped with a sugar plaque."
The donut had a lovely lemon yellow coloured icing from when I had it last year and it had such a lovely lemon flavour too. The donut was spongy and light and it was filled with the lightest of sherbert kreme and lemon curd. The curd / jam was very zesty and it sure lived up to it's name. I'm crying as I'm writing about this donut! Can't believe I didn't get to eat one this year. I was hoping Krispy Kreme was going to keep it around until the end of the month.
I can't believe I saw this in the stores this year. I just wish I picked one up but I was saving myself for Valentines day and then Krispy Kreme brought out a Valentine's box. So I didn't get to have all the hearts I wanted. I was saving that for the weekend. I should have been greedy and had them all! Sooooo unfair!! This being the only one I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into and I missed out. I guess I only have the memories.
Simply the Zest? For sure it was... but I was the lemon by not getting one in before it vanished!
